George is just so *not* knowledgeable about science in general--that in itself bores me to death--much in the same way that Art used to fascinate me with his willingness to suspend his disbelief in controversial scientific subject matter.  Combined with his practical, scientific understanding of life and how the average man sees the paranormal--he himself having a solid scientific grounding through amateur radio and so on, I could listen to Art all night.  Norry is just the "poor man's suit" pretending to be Art.  That's why the show is a shadow of what it used to be and ratings continue to see saw.  I feel sorry for the kids that never had the chance to hear Art in his heyday.  Not that Art was perfect, but Norry just puts me to sleep after about 10 min.

I remember that. That song gave me diabetes.

That song gave me nausea.

...and now appearing at the Marriott Red Velvet lounge, ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to...Jorge Noory and his Karaoke machine!

[Margaret, order me a pitcher of martinis...better yet, let's just go to the biker bar across the street and shoot some pool.  Maybe they have a jukebox there and we can listen to some old Tom Petty songs or something.]

The best way to get Jorge off the air is to not support his sponsors and not listen to his show.  The bottom line is pure economics, borne out by the rating system.

Hey, anybody remember when Jorge crooned live on air?  The time he sang "Can't Help Falling In Love" during the show?  I thought I was being held hostage at a Lebanese wedding with Jorge storming the stage, stealing the singer's mic, and with wineglass in hand, proceeded to serenade the entire C2C audience, fancying himself to be Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin or something...it was horrible.  He backed up his effort that he's been asked to sing at weddings because he's such a talented singer and has such a melodious voice (malodorous, maybe?).

That was it for me.  It was sort of like a surreal scene out of the Godfather.  Art knew his limitations and his strengths--this joker's all over the map, with an unrestrained ego to boost.  I don't even tune in anymore, not without checking the guest list first...have fun listening , y'all.  But you already knew that.

In a way, it's fitting--Jorge is the cheap. lounge act imitation of Art.

How about a mash up of Chantal Lysette and Richard Alan Miller, the Schroedinger's catbox guy? He was on with John B. Wells about 2 weeks before Wells left the show.

You mean was summarily dismissed, i.e., got fired by TPTB.

Possible captions:

"Is it me, or is my makeover crumbling?"

"Gawd, I know I look like Tom Cruise in Minority Report after he injected himself with that stuff, but I haven't slept with a woman in so long and I think I'm getting a woody."

"I sure could use a Tic Tac right now..."

"I'm really happy that we've been so successful turning Art's old show into a quasi-forum for alternative health.  Being a hypochondriac myself, I'm obsessed about homeopathic cures.  A stupid, greedy dolt like me wants to live as long as possible.  Have you ever tried Turmeric as a sex aid?"

The only thing I take issue with here is that the ratings were on a somewhat upward trajectory prior to the 16th..

Why do you need a Hollywood makeover for talk radio?  So which George are we talking about?  The St. Louis "nighthawk" George with a greasy, receding hairline and bumbling dialog or the LA bad dye job suit-and-tie revamped George appearing regularly on the UFO talk circuit with bumbling dialog?  Whoever is behind this guy's career has a hell of a lot of money invested in Jorge's success.

The cool thing about Art is what you see and hear is what you get.  Art was not pretentious.  He asked the right questions and seemed genuinely interested in the subject at hand.  George, by comparison, is completely asleep at the wheel during interviews and seems to be following some formula or routine.

His fake enthusiasm and phony positivism makes me ill.  The night is evil (be afraid, be very afraid!), but here comes Jorge, in shining white armor to hold your hand and help you make it through the night.  "Gawsh, that's not so scary now is it?"  I guess not...thanks, Jorge, for your dogged relentlessness and supreme insight into the world of the mysterious and the unknown.  *Yawn*  "Be safe everyone."  Indeed.  Give me that old time religion....

If UFO Phil wrote a song about me, I'd sue his pants off.  Or at least go piss on his lawn.  That's the most gay, annoying tribute song ever written...but for some reason though, it fits Noory to a T.

I'll help out:  The world's not the place that it seems and there's a lot of truth seekers out there who know they've been brainwashed by the educational system, the media, and the government.  Maybe some of their theories are unscientific and unprovable by mainstream scientific standards, but they've latched on to some snippet of truth, something genuinely real and are simply following the evidence where it leads.

I'd rather be wrong, but going in the right direction than to be going in the wrong direction and have people think I'm always right just because I'm in a position of power and authority with the privilege of being able to parse fact from fiction or fact from fantasy--which is nothing more than my informed opinion--with the effect that I'm influencing the thinking of a tremendous amount of people, not with the truth, but my own version of it, and the resulting consequences, good or bad.

The universe is littered with c2c guest who, when making a prediction about anything, hedge, hem, haw, mumble and avoid specifics like the plague.  Tonight Robert Young Pelton forcasted that US military action against Syria will begin on Thursday.  Period.  kudos.  Stanton Friedman and Paola Harris  gave tribute to Jessie Marcel Jr, who was the son of somebody who worked at Roswell when the ufo crashed.  Paola said it was ironic that Jessie died (of a heart attack) while reading a book about ufos.  I predict one day somebody will use the word "ironic" correctly.  What Catholic journalist Charles Coulombe  lacked in personality he made up for in common sense.  He mentioned, in passing, that he gave no credence to the idea that ancient civilisations had nuclear reactors to which George, who is convinced that the world experienced a nuclear war a zillion years ago, took issue with Mr. Coulombe.  Well, actually, George didn't say anything because he never says anything to defend his convictions about anything because, lets face it, he doesn't really believe in anything.  And, in case you missed it, George "opened up the computers" to the first 100 people who signed up to become coast insiders, all of whom will receive...coast insider memberships.  Huh?  Well that just didn't make any sense at all.  George, you need to check in with us here every now and then to stimulate those braincells because they sure do need stimulating real bad.

thursday

Yeah, I heard how Prem Rat regularly pays people to call in and praise Jorch ("George, you're doing a tremendous job since taking over for Art!" Etc, etc, ad nauseam), and praise how he has grown the show since Art was more or less fired by the network.

I like George Noory in the sense that people loved to hate Howard Cosell or Richard Nixon back in the seventies.

Gawsh, you know, I guess Art could suck as bad as George Newry (C2C announce).  Nobody's perfect, you know?  But I'd rather listen to Art sucking than George sucking on a nightly basis:

I'm just so stoked that Art is coming back to radio!  I don't care if I have to pay $14.95 a month for a Sirius XM scrip--that's nothing--2 Big Mac meals at McDonald's.  Whatever.  I'm a vegetarian anyway (although I do eat fish), so it doesn't really matter!  At least I'm not a vegan...sheesh!

Hi guys (and gals), just me again--I'm a newbie (yeah, yeah), I've been enjoying P*B's posts lately and thought I'd take my own little stab at it (yew suck!).  What can I say?  But hey, I have a hunch what the former C2C announcer (now over at Red Eye radio) would have to say about George's "tweaks" of Art's old show:

DOOFUS!

Just wondering what George's show notes might look like with Art Bell returning to radio soon and what Art's new show might do to C2C's ratings...
