Friends, before we go any further:   # miles you are from this fault.

I'll start. I'm < 1 mile from it.

(They built a freeway along it and part of UCBerkeley, including a stadium.)

67.1 miles from the hayward fault line

Noorynoid

I remember my first quake, it was dark and I was alone....

Was it Northridge?

No, it was in my room, I was 13 and the room shook, rattled and rolled.

I've experienced two quakes here in Norcal in the past three years- 5.3 and 5.4  It'll change your perspective on stuff.

Bwaah-ha-ha-ha!!! LOL

True story... The place they did the rituals was in the woods called seven oaks. Strange stuff.

thought my house was coming down in 94 during the northridge quake, and I was near the beach in west l.a., twenty+ miles away...  I was sure it was the north end of the long beach fault (less than half a mile away)...

Weather update: The National Weather Service Las Vegas just tweeted: "9:15pm - Pahrump seeing a few showers and cracks of thunder. None of these appear to [be] big rain producers." https://twitter.com/NWSVegas/status/626969944748654592

That would be energy released from earth in that one location. Wasn't that was LMH was talking about or what guest was that?

Noorynoid

California is long overdue for a really big quake. The reason I refuse to live in San Francisco or anywhere along major fault lines. I have emergency supplies ready, mostly water and food.
