FROM THE SCORPION ARMY SIGNAL CORP:

TO ART BELL "MIDNITE IN THE DESERT" PEOPLE, THERE WILL BE DIFFICULTY IN HEARING
THE SHOW IN MANY PARTS OF AMERICA IF YOUR DRIVING AROUND, AND DEPENDING ON
YOUR AM/FM CAR RADIO. AS YOU KNOW ART WILL BE ON SHORTWAVE! BUT THERE ARE
CURRENTLY NO PRODUCTION CAR RADIOS WITH SHORTWAVE ON THEIR DIALS. THAT COULD
CHANGE WITH YOUR HELP! SUPPORT THE MANUFACTURE OF A CROWD-FUNDED AUTOMOTIVE
SHORTWAVE RADIO BEING PROPOSED BY FRED STUDENBERG! THIS MAN WOULD MAKE A
GREAT FIRST-HOUR TYPE GUEST FOR THE FIELD MARSHALL ART BELL!! HERE IS THE WEBSITE
DISCUSSING THE IDEA:

Didn't mean to offend anyone or take over a thread with off topic stuff...also, if there is a max post limit I'll surely comply...I really like BG and the folks here! If I get PMs to leave, then I will...

Didn't you know only the elite can post off topic here? ........

Anyway, it was about freedom, and that was on topic enough for me. We live in a country where it is possible to have open discourse because of the outcome of ww2. Art's show wouldn't play in Germany or japan.

It is not like, all or nothing.  "We can land invade Japan, or we can drop 2 atom bombs on major cities killing men, women, babies and children....hmmmm".

They could have demonstrated one in the ocean, or dropped one in a field somewhere.  There were no good guys in WW2, all sides committed horrible atrocities.  The only positive ones in world war 2, were those who rejected violence.

I used to think like this, then I read the facts. Japan refused adamantly to surrender even after Hiroshima. That fact, coupled with the inhumane way Japan conducted itself, made the second one necessary. All sides did not commit horrible atrocities to the same degree. That is just bullshit. The goodd guys were the ones that gave their lives to prevent the earth being turned into a living hell by thee evils of Germany and Japan. Wake up

The letters are amazing! Brings to light the nature of thinking in 1945. I think they made the only decision they could have back then...I travel to China on business often, and have many close Chinese friends...even given the cold war, they appreciate our efforts to defeat the Empire of Japan to this very day...that's why Mao met with Nixon...during the war we supplied both the Nationalists and Communists with weapons and supplies to fight the Japanese...

Thanks for your trouble, I appreciate it!

The decision point for Truman was when film got to him from the civilians of Okinawa jumping off the cliffs...

Not that I doubt you, but do you have a reference for that? When I saw that film, and the film of the liberation it had a profound effect on me.  I want to see what Truman said, if it is available.

I hope they don't spend too much time on the show going about Hawass.. Everytime Graham or Bauval have come on coast recently they end up spending an hour talking about him. I know he's is(was?) an important figure and whatnot in modern egypt but get to the real stuff.

I agree with you. Hawass was a problem, and, in my opinion, has been given too much credit. As I understand things, he made it very difficult for researchers to do work if he didnt like their philosophy. So, he is really not a scientist, just a priest of his own brand of Egyptology.

On the other hand, Nancy's is a support show for MITD, as is Richard's, and a bit of promo here for either or both I'd think would be a good thing and beneficial to the cause. Also, maybe not as relevant, but Nancy has been a long-time member here, and a fairly prolific post contributor, whereas Richard has never posted here as far as I know.

Just my one cent worth, after taxes and inflation.
Don't see how RCH could possibly host a "support" show for Art Bell. I have heard him ad nauseum over the years and , in my opinion, he simply does not have the breadth, patience, or personality to fill this kind of roll. If that is what is truly planned, I foresee major difficulties . Perhaps the intent is for RCH to just do his own thing, which makes more sense. In either event, my feeling is that it will be a mercifully short run. I don't wish RCH success because of the numerous whoppers he has promulgated over the years. He does great harm to serious fringe science, in my opinion.

Plan to. And its not my butt, its my head. I have listened to RCH several times over many years and he has said many outrageous things. I can go along with his theater to a point. He crossed that point several years ago when he essential said that NASA caused one of the shuttle disasters as a premeditated act. For me, that was too much.

Well, here is the thing, many love Richard and yes some hate him. However both groups will listen to confirm their passion. The fact that they tried to move my friend right on top of my opening day with a show that by that time would be old news is simply pathetic.

Art

Point taken, I love the play. But Im not going to listen to him .

No matter what, our little after-Art chat show and pressure-valve will not conflict with Hoagland's audience. Not at all. Not one little bit.

Also, both Bella-Haven and Hoagy will be taped for replay later, so each night folks will have a choice, without ultimately missing out. Winners all around.

🌸Bella🌸
Given the choice, I would listen to a dripping faucet over RCH. I will be tuning into your after show

Why wouldn't Noory be relieved he can finally be rid of this loon?

Perhaps Art doesn't realize the contempt that a lot of people have for RCH. I know its all about entertainment, but jesus, this gives me real pause.

Not sure how I feel about this.. I will be tuning in to see how the show.  Giving Hoagland his own show to rave on about nonsense is either the best idea ever or the worst.
I get the sense it will be entertaining at first but ultimately tiring and same-ish after a while.

I'm going to go with worst idea ever. Predicting short term implosion into a black hole.

Keep the Hoagie coming - he's a kick.  And given the number of wild claims he makes, the law of averages implies something he says might actually be true.

I wouldnt care if he had an ounce of humility. There mere fact that he cant be bothered with taking questions is just low rent. I dont care who likes him or thinks he is passionate. It shows a degree of contempt that is inexcusable in my book.

Ok I heard the Hughes show, no problem. You have to understand Richard, he has a passion for what he does and agree or disagree with him I have a lot of respect for that, everything else to him is simply not relevant, I get it.

Art

Well Art, you are far more forgiving than I would be. Sure he has passion, but after listening to him all these years, I find that I would have been ahead flossing my teeth instead. The theatrical BS, the never getting to the point (if ever) until he is darn good and ready, the holier than thou attitude just doesnt play for me. The main issue I have with him is that at some level, be has to know he is peddling pure BS. Loved the catbox comment.

Whenever Hoagland is on I always time how long he can go without actually saying anything. He's closing in on 3 minutes now.

Next time he is on I think we should all take bets on his longest....at least it would be something to listen for.

Was that mean?

lol

Mean no, accurate yes. I bet 10 bucks he never says anything verifiable the entire time he is on.
