I thought about it. Radio broadcasters should stick to broadcasting.

I chose my name because George actually considered running for president and its just so beyond him... maybe his heart was in the right place but it's just one of the funniest and at the same time most disturbing things he's done. I thought maybe in the next life he'd have better luck.

You're absolutely correct, and it should be 2116. I didn't remember the details of his future incarnation and I didn't do my due diligence, which will forever haunt me on this board and leave everybody wondering what the hell my avatar is supposed to be all about.

After reading much of this thread last night, I went to bed and have awoken to finally realize and accept that Art's gone and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it. SUCKS!!!!

I thought this was an Onion report at first. jorch is sooo out of touch. I choose to believe this was a stunt by jorch and his agent to try to generate buzz and ratings. Reminds me of all the loons that were running for Governor of CA in the recall election some years back. porn stars and 80's sitcom has-beens.

Fort Rock, this is a breakthrough! Look at the time that it was posted! It was posted at 3:57 pm! CLEARLY this is a reference to a .357 magnum. It is obvious that Art is using the timing that these things are announced to convey secret messages that he cannot overtly say. This has been well established, in fact, mostly by your impeccable internet sleuthing and inside sources. Again, there is a secret message here! It is obvious to me, that like many of us here, Art would like to shoot you in the face.

Art did once say that he thought George "gets the show," but he had a bad back at the time and was clearly out of his mind with the pain.

I think it will eventually come out that Art was (a) bound by contract and (b) making the best of a less-than-ideal situation. And then (c)...I've observed this before. Noory wasn't always as bad as he's been these last several years. Once upon a time, he was listenable and it seemed like he really made an effort. His first few years on the air, when Art was still a presence on the weekends, he knew he had to keep his game high because the founder and standard bearer was still a going concern. As the post-Art C2C became more and more of a reality (which really I'd say began when Art cut down to 10-15 episodes a year) he got lazier and sloppier, phoning it in became the norm, and the gradual fringe-right-wingnut co-opting began. In any case, whatever Art said at the time versus what he really thought of Noory....was probably dictated by circumstance we just don't know all the details about.

And unlike Alex Jones, I'm not going to build a case on flimsy evidence and call it truth.

Frankly, I think the web rumor that he had a role in hiring George is at least 100 times more slanderous than the rumor that he wrote that anti-Filipino diatribe

What if the rumors were right that George Noory was connected through his Evangelical Christian Backers to the Sex Abuse allegations made by Tennessee-Based Shortwave Broadcaster WWCR? I'm not saying that George KNOWS his Backers were involved, but what if his rise were a product of those allegations?

Everytime I bring up the whole issue of the WWCR Allegations Against Art Bell, as a broad-based conspiracy, the Fundamentalist War Against Art Bell, I get batted-down. Are there sympathies here at CoastGab for the actions of WWCR Christian Shortwave? Just wondering!
