Sad day for Russia. I hope they catch the terrorist(s) soon and bring them to justice.

All monarchists hate the Russians. They're still trying to elicit payback for what happened in 1917 along with all the other nefarious shit they're always up to.  ::)

Jeez could he be any more of a stereotype?  I wonder if he plays Abderahman at the Mariinsky, or at least raided the costume shop.

We still haven't heard from Shreddy.

I used his kitchen to build the bomb. Whups.

When I described the suspect to Mr. Pye, he thought I was being facetious. I wonder if the suspect was making a statement by not concealing his affiliation. Typical dress or a bold statement?

I think Jews in Eastern Europe retained traditional dress to a greater degree than in the West, so maybe other ethnic minorities aren't afraid to stick out.

You think that? I don't hate anyone. Least of all those living under an oppresive dictatorship.

As for prayers; As useful as chewing gum. But I do hope the fatalities don't increase.

Did Russia Insider have room to mention the many murdered political opponents and journalists not in favour of Putin?

Is your mission to turn this thread into a venue for Putin/Russian hate?

Of course it is. He's British! And not one of the majority who voted for Brexit.  ;):D

Eh, give Pud credit.  At least it isn't the I Love The Donald thread.  It's good to see him broaden his interests. :))

You know prayers can help get people through rough times.  It has happened before and just maybe someone will pull through where they would not have before.  Of course, it is all conjecture but, pud, you need to read up on the power of prayer.  We all know that won't happen though.

11 gone  :( The Russian subways are a national pride as well. I don't think this kind of terror is going to go away in our lifetime with or without drastic actions. However, Putin will not let this go unchecked.

In the wake of a deadly explosion on the St. Petersburg metro, you could bet on conspirators of all kinds to come up with their own versions of events immediately after the tragic news broke. This time around, US liberal media darling and News Corp. executive Louise Mensch took the prize for wildest conspiracy theory -- and not just one.

Yeah? Other than orthodox churches, Russia isn't at the top of the list if you're looking at relgious countries. Prayer is useless; its as good as giving someone a cup of tea and a cookie. I much prefer someone taking practical steps to help, but we all know the hierachy of all established religions have the 'best' religion and look down on/attack/murder those who don't 'understand' their version.

I watched almost on a weekly basis in the 70's, 80's and early 90's the carnage the PIRA inflicted on civilians and British soldiers. I know someone who was in the bomb attack in Manchester. PIRA was supported in no small measure by American millionaires. My brother missed by days an attack in Germany by PIRA at a base he was working at.

I don't need any lessons from you about my view of terrorism,.
