Cyber warfare is poised to be the next WMD.  If you can take out an enemy's power grid with a computer on the other side of the world, the effects over time will be as devastating (at least in terms of human casualties) as NBC attacks.  The cost of establishing a cyber warfare capability for a smaller nation would be orders on magnitude cheaper than developing current WMDs.

Yeah, I noticed that as well.  The idea of withholding information from leaders to provide for "plausible deniability" is not uncommon, but with someone like Trump it would neccessarily become the rule rather than the exception.

In the late 70s, Jimmy Carter "outed" the existence of the stealth bomber program after being roundly criticized for canceling the B-1. Guys I knew who were in the program office at the time of Carter's comments claimed it came as a complete surprise, and caused a great deal of distrust in Carter in the DoD.  Apparently they were much more circumspect with regard to what Carter was told for the rest of his presidency.

Duke and Sorcha Faal posting the same story on the same day. What are the odds of that.

Sure, but the real future is in chemical and biological weapons, BWCT withstanding- since oversight is hard, production is easy and cheaper, and, likely, everyone is worried that "the other guy is doing it so we better 'research," and you have non-State crazies around. With our current technology, and likely some we aren't aware of, it would be relatively easy. And, if targeting say something like agriculture, water supplies, or animals could be done in a fashion with plausible deniability and even allow for the opportunity for the instigator (knowingly or unknowingly depending on compartmentalization) come to the "rescue" with food aid, the "cure," etc, with some caveats for thanks. Genetically-based weapons are also likely. Dr. Wouter Basson and others were working on them back in the 70's and I'm sure they've come along way, baby.  The other nefarious idea, thinking like an evil person, is medicine. Especially now that much of our medicine is manufactured in other countries- some of which are rivals or potential enemies. How much is actually checked? How much is counterfeit, simply for profit or from low standards of production? How easy would it be for the State Actor to poison them? Or simply shut production down even? Lots of people are on maintenance medicine.  And also what about messing with the illegal drug trade for a political gain, sort of seen in the synthetic drugs and counterfeit Fentenayl now, maybe?

It's the current 'normal', yes.  When a sitting POTUS lies about lying about lying, and then denies everything, and puts the word of an adversary above that of the country's own intel agencies, and you lap it up like the pet puppy you are..

What does any of that have to do with the CIA planting 'insurance' in Russian mainframes and not telling Trump because they're concerned he'd tell Putin and/or cancel it?

So you’re cool with the CIA running the country then?

I'd be cool with our pet West highland terrier running the country before Trump.

Here he is contemplating Trump's latest tantrum.

Because it was pointed out in a comment that cyber attacks were the future of warfare. And I agree that those will be a big part of it (already are) that the cost and technological advancement in bio-chemical weapons (at least potentially since, technically, nobody is supposed to be making them) means that I predict, hopefully not, that those will be the real future.

The Chinese, our various alphabet agencies, UK, French, and Israel (and likely others) has put "insurance" in our routers, phone systems, "smart" products, software, and computer hardware for decades. This is nothing new.

Cute Westie. You should lease him out.  I hear there are lots of rodent problems in parts of California these days.

What does that have to do with the DNC planting child-porn on Alex Jones' website in an attempt to discredit him?

Geez, as Norry might say, they make Iran seem like Turkey with all the machinations, fake news, rival groups, faked accounts, false flags, deep state operatives, and different cults, and personality cults.
