I love that band.  IMO...Terry Kath doesn't get enough recognition as a great musician and singer.

Amen.  Kath's widow is the steady girlfriend of ELO headman, Jeff Lynne.

They're alright but really only about a half doxen songs stand out in my mind. Of course I prefer the Kath era to the Cetera era though I don't mind Cetera. I remember hearing his songs on AM radio a lot when I was a kid so that's probably a lot of the attraction, frankly. I helped set up for them once when they played the venue I was working at the time. I remember being a gofer for the guitar tech for awhile and then I setup the mics for the horn section. However, I was out of there before the band did sound check and never saw them play.

Kath and Cetera were in the band together until Kath's tragic death.  They took turns singing lead.  Obviously '69-'77 were the best years though.

OK, I thought Kath was the more predominant singer in the early days.

Vocals were split between them pretty evenly.  Cetera started dominating more from '76 on.

I suppose I just paid more attention to the songs that featured him then.

I like both of them about the same but I didn't approve of Cetera being the central figure after Kath died.  They marketed him as a sex symbol and I always thought that was phony.  I liked Chicago's 80's stuff but it is wimp rock when compared to their earlier stuff. To me Chicago was a group and not a front band for Cetera.

People dancing, people laughing
A man selling ice cream
Singing Italian songs
Everybody is another
Can you dig it

And I've been waiting such a long time
For Saturday
