I tried going gluten-free to see if I had developed an allergy. It didn't help, but I got used to being gluten free so now I just steer away from it, mainly because some of my friends claim to have celiac.

I think your crepe idea may work. Even if it didn't, it is not like you had a lot invested in ingredients.

Here is a cooking video I did that you might be interested in buddy.

This video took me all day to make.

all day eh? did you call into work, that is, if you have a real job?

Because if you have a real job I wonder why you're fucking around here trying to replace Falkie2013.

Just Watched Temple of Doom last night, because I had forgotten how terrible of a movie it was apparently.  The Indian food scene, in particular was both racist and perhaps a little too shark jumpy for me.  Reading how this thread has typically derailed itself, I am reminded of another scene from a different movie:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx_hlStCL7g

I have never been inclined to try brains, although I have a friend...  He liked this one old 24-hour diner that had been in the neighborhood for 50+ years specifically because they served fried cow's brain, or pig's brain (can't recall which).

I am now wondering if there are any non-zombie brain eating afficionados in the BallGrabVerse?

If it's cow's brain that is the preferred cerebral delicacy has the Mad Cow scare effectively put an end to this particular line of culinary inquisition?  If it is pig's brain, I am ready and willing to hear testimonials of the nutritive delight!  Someone please convince me that it is actually a good thing to eat!

Consider the glove thrown, sir(s and/or madames)

I said good day...

Alright, so ALL the Indiana Jones's movies are on AMZN Prime for free...I went ahead and re-watched Temple of Doom after a 20-year or so hiatus...yeah buddy, craptastic.

In other news, I bought a Ron Popeil 5-in-1 Cooking System from the deep-discount deal-a-day website meh.com. https://meh.com/forum/topics/ron-popeil-5-in-1-cooking-system-1

It was $35.00.

My question(s) to the community are thusly:

"Why do I have to fry birds whole? Is there anything "drastically" stopping me from whacking up the bird and frying the pieces individually?"*

*because I don't like too much messing with the birds before I eat them.

All y'all can go suck a bag of dicks.

Don't forget to brine them first.

Sorry Big C, I don't think we've had a quorum for awhile, otherwise I'm confident we'd come through for you.

FWIW I think a whole bird is for presentation and stuffing.  Frying more or less removes the latter concern, so hack away.

I really don't get it?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA-AvBjBm5k

I have not been infected with the zombie brain eating virus, so I really haven't been inclined to try brains.

I suppose retreadildo was trying to say I don't have a brain or somesuck?

Not=Caring.  The "joke" wasn't funny to begin with so anyone who cares to may "ruin" it by 'splainin'...

Apropos of nuthin:

This guy apparently has abandoned the dead weight moniker of "Okie"...

Saw him back in the mid 80s. I had a beer with him while his guys were setting up. I just remember him looking up at the TV screen (which was playing MTV at the time) and then telling me that Sting's a lot older than people think. Good times!  :D

I am about to make some beef jerky is there a beef jerky thread on bellgab? do we need one?

I am a novice and i don think you can really make bad jerky but i want to hear the way other bellgabers make it. I marinade mine in soy sauce, mustard, fresh ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and some Tabasco or Sriracha to spice it up and maybe a little honey for sweetness. Then dehydrate it for about 6 hours in my dehydrator.

Main thing is to try and remove all fat. It will turn rancid if you don't eat it right away.

Thanks for warming the thread up. Hope chefist is OK, last I heard he sold off his business, but planned to visit more often - he will certainly have more time for home cooked meals. Who knows, maybe he is starting another business.

So what is on everybody's Easter menu, assuming that you observe Easter and are cooking?

This is the ki d of thing they do on food message boards like eGullet.

I'm having pork loin, scalloped potatoes (because they were such a hit at Christmas), spinach salad, frozen fruit salad and some sort of cherry tarts I'm making to use up some canned cherries somebody gave me. I'm having white zinfandel from Trader Joe's. The other two don't drink, so I'm probably the only one who will have any. I frequently serve 2 buck chuck at Holiday meals.

eGullet types often post pictures, sometimes many pictures depicting preparation, but I don't know how to post pictures from my phone, except texting.

Sounds great! Zombie Jesus would be proud! (kidding) I'll probably end up at my daughter's house after church. Not sure what she will be fixing, but it's always good.

I had that once, about 20 years, ago, when bf knew someone who kept rabbits.

Some of my Easter eggs didn't turn out too good this year. Some did, but I think that the cups may have had traces of grease and that caused some streaking. Also I think the old style boiling water dyes worked better than these modern cold ones. I realize that this is safer for kids, but still. I've learned the hard way not to try food coloring instead of Paas dye. The red and purple ones turned out horribly when I tried that.

Devilled eggs for the weekend.

How did we ever survive childhood? In other news, Ciardelo loves deviled eggs.  :D
