He's not an idol of mine just the best President of my lifetime IMHO.  He did something no one else has done since.  He won 49 states in 1984 and the country was in a good place then.  We'll never see a candidate do that again and I think it is a bit sad.  I was very proud to vote for him and still feel that way.  Always will, I suspect.

I think a good outcome. The guy is young and made a stupid mistake and so rightfully served his term but the pardon by Trump will allow him to get a better job to support his family and considering Clinton, who was far more experienced and a lawyer, did far worse and was never punished due to her political connections for similar, but far, far, worse crimes and security breaches.

What part of 18 U.S. Code § 3591 do you not understand?
Who signed off on it? Oh yeah, President Clinton, but you probably weren't aware of that.

Having said that I'm not sure a Signaporean-style system would be a good idea but for the kingpins or when associated with ancillary crimes and guilt is verified etc I wouldn't mind as the current law Bill signed into law. But longer sentences for dealers in certain drugs instead of slap on the wrists maybe. Personally I think legalize or decriminalize most all of it and get product that are pure, more relatively safe, take the cartels and crime out of the business, regulate it, and treat addicts and the problem.
