Messages - Late Night 211

I'm listening to Noory and he's asking Ventura questions before he even finishes answering. On top of that they're not follow up questions, he changes subjects at will. I mean good interviews become personal and when you talk and LISTEN you give reactions to answers , like a laugh or a comment to the answer. It sounds like George has a list of questions he reads off of and he just wants to get them all in. Humans interview, robots ask questions. Sorry, now i realize why this thread is here.

There were some pretty clumsy and awkward moments with that Eldon Taylor guy.

Taylor: 'Blah blah blah[a big build up], there is something which is absolutely critical to consider. You must ask yourself -- What if everything I believe is wrong? [about to continue and elaborate on his point]"

Noory:[cuts in, using his best dramatic sounding voice] "And what if everything I believe is right?"

Taylor: ". . .erm, haha, well, uh..."

They may have gone to a commercial after this, I don't remember. But Noory derailed the topic with his meaningless "contribution."

Then, at the end of the show, they took a call from some guy who was telling a story about his dog. Noory cut in halfway through and said something like 'You're a pet lover, and I'll tell you that gets some bonus points in my book. Eldon Taylor, thanks for being with us" -- Awkward silence -- "For George Knapp, Ian Punnet and Art bell, blah blah blah"

As the host he should have better time management than that. He totally fubared the end of the show.
I heard that show, i was waiting to hear the end of that guys passionate story and Noory cuts in and ends the show. I look at the time and it's still 5 mins to the top of the hour. Then they start playing local commercials to fill time, obvious that they could of kept going.WTF ? I will never get to hear that guys story, could have changed lives...thanks for that.

I posted on it a while back (#5134 in the compendium)...sad.
Thanks , that's exactly it, that's the guy who's name escaped me. Yes that story was horrid, i don't know if i would ever had told that story myself but it shaped who he is today and his message. He really is an interesting guy who i want to learn more about and see if he's legit or trying to sell some stuff. Yeah i know what you mean about wishing you hadn't heard it , it's hauntingly awful to conceptualize. I was saying to myself why didn't you save him ? But i guess he hadn't got to that point in his life yet. At least he makes people think about the issue. Thanks

Sorry if i should be able to find it  but George had a guest who has been on a couple times before that told a story about raising calves for slaughter and the calf crying out to him. The guy's story about animals was very moving and i forgot to bookmark his site. I know somebody has the answer , thanks in advance.

Two highlights tonight.

1. George compliments a man who has a coast 2 coast site where they have two rules. First no cursing , second no personal attacks. George says he wishes all sites were like that lmao.

2. George asks a man who's blind if he can see at all, the man says he's been blind since birth. He follows with two questions about seeing colors, first red which he says he would guess he would associate with being hot. Then blue and the man says no he can't envision the color, awkward pause. Moves on to seeing eye dog question, man doesn't have one, again awkward.

I don't hate the man and enjoy the show when there are exceptional guests like Michio Kaku but damn sometimes i just want to shoot the radio.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Art Bell Bumper Music
February 10, 2011, 01:48:28 PM
Those are some great songs Michael , thanks.

A few i think i remember hearing:

Gilbert O'Sullivan - Alone Again
Al Stewart - Time Passages
Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky/Breakdown

Songs that should of been bumper music:

Leo Sayer - Long Tall Glasses  - leo Sayer -Long Tall Glasses
Russ Ballard - Voices - russ ballard - voices

Great 80's song, fits in with Coast To Coast subjects.

I like her when she does real health type issues but other than that, snooze fest. Of course i like shows that have some basis in reality , like bird deaths or health related topics.

My favorite Dames moment was when he forecasted that Mets stadium would have a huge anthrax outbreak soon after the post 911 anthrax cases.  Luckily after his prediction the authorities prevented this tragedy from happening. Really had me worried at the time...
