It's all very exciting until it's your house and town that gets destroyed.

This is why it has always amazed me that there aren't more underground homes in tornado alley. It's a cheaper, more energy efficient building method, but mainly, it's safer. The techniques were highly developed in the early 1970's.

out of curiosity, checked several chaser sites to see what a ride-along would cost.  I was shocked and amazed at what was charged.  since I live in tornado alley, am thinking about renting out my front yard for camping, etc.  just look up during storm season and you will likely see one pretty close.
