Haven't been around here for a while, decided to stop by when I saw the news.

RIP Art

Here is where I rant because I've seen it first hand, and it is crazy. And I'm not even talking "terrorism" but just neighborhood, culture, safety, changing or being lowered.

This is where folks will resort to calling me "racist" <snip>

Here's the thing: a lot of the problems you've just described aren't limited to Muslims. These problems exist in predominantly black neighborhoods, predominantly hispanic neighborhoods, and white trash neighborhoods. Florida has a ton of all of them, and I used to seem them everyday when I worked in the adult beverage distribution industry.

I would prefer to think that you're a decent person, but you have this laser focus on groups that you seem terrified of, while glossing over the fact that there are people born here, and whose families have likely been here for at least a couple of generations, who do the exact same thing. There are times I have seen you describe the groups that scare you as less than human, and it's really disconcerting to me that you or anyone else can think that way.

One of the things that Trump does that bothers the hell out of me is that he will take a group (Muslims, Mexicans, reporters, etc), and say that they are all scumbags, but as an afterthought say "I'm sure some of them are nice people", then go back to describing the entire group as the lowest form of life on the planet. A lot of your posts do something similar, but you don't even bother with the sentiment that some of them redeemable.

While I don't entirely disagree with you that culture and heritage is to blame, I believe the biggest problem is that people, not just Muslims or Mexicans or blacks or white trash, are dumb panicky animals who will lash out when they think something is threatening them because they don't know any better. Sometimes the threats are real, and I agree that there are times we need to stand up to them, but to paint entire groups with the same brush because a minority of them could very well be dangerous is myopic at best.

They'll vote Clinton when Bernie endorses her in a few months.

I don't think they will.

I live in Florida, and everyone I know that took part in the primary (who is a registered Democrat) voted for Bernie. The next day, there was a sense of incredulity at how she won by such a wide margin, and a lot of people agreed that the fix was in. One report showed Hillary having 71% of the vote to Bernie's 34%, which didn't help some of the more conspiracy-minded.

Most (myself included) can't bring themselves to vote for Hillary in November, nor do they particularly want to vote for Trump, so third party or write-in votes are looking like the most attractive option. I voted for Gary Johnson last election, as I saw nothing good in Barry or Mittens; I have no problem doing it again, especially if it gives a third party a chance at gaining 10% of the vote for matching federal funds.

Had a bit of a reaction when I saw I made the top right.

But I really did get tired of his shit.

The reality is that there are 1.5 billion Muslims on this planet. If the entire religion wanted us dead, we'd be dead.

The savage muslims don't care who they kill with their terrorism, why should we treat them any differently.

You are either with us or against us.  If you are against us go stand on the side with the muslims and know that no quarter will be given to you.  You will be gunned down just the same, your body thrown in a mass grave, forgotten in time, just heartbreak in your families heart as a traitor as you sided with the muslims and not your countrymen.

I'm not normally a hateful person, but I really do wish you would die in a fire.

I figure if Trump is having the success that he is, Gary Busey really should consider running for public office.

I saw this headline on the National Enquirer at Walmart over the weekend:  Norry and Caitlyn to adopt a mean alien baby.

If Noory was ever actually named in a headline in the National Enquirer, it would be one of the proudest days of his life. It would give him the sense of relevance that he has always wanted and would likely be cherished more than his regional Emmys.

Psychology today publish article why Ted Cruz face is so ugly.
hahaha
https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-fallible-mind/201601/why-ted-cruz-s-facial-expression-makes-me-uneasy

I do find that the German word he uses, backpfeifengesicht "a face that is in need of a punch", is a very good description of the reactions Cruz's face elicits in many people.

It does seem like Rafael never learned to use facial expressions like a normal human.

Ha. His dad was a great accordionist (he is pretty good also and so I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't used in that video.)
ps: I support, or at least use, the "Oxford Comma," but likely due to a particular grammar teacher. I know there is controversy about it.

Frankie Yankovic was not Weird Al's father. The two are not related in any way.

Not to call you racist, because Hispanic is not a race,  but you are aware that a "black" can be a "Mexican," using your catch-all term for Hispanic. And a "Mexican" can even be a  Muslim or even Jewish. Yep. "Jew-mexicans," as you might call them. Mexico, by the way, even has a character called "El Negrito" on a stamp and in their popular 'Lotteria' game.

You want to call me (or not call me, I'm not sure where you're going with that) a racist for using the same descriptions Trump has used to describe certain people in the past, that's fine.

"I have a great relationship with the blacks. I've always had a great relationship with the blacks." (It's still disputed whether he once said that "laziness is a trait inherent in the blacks".)

Granted, in his diatribe against Mexican immigrants, he did not use the word "Mexicans". He said "When Mexico sends its people...". If this offends your delicate sensitivities, I can change it to "people from Mexico". Nowhere in that post did I use the word 'hispanic', so I'm not sure how that is even germane to this.

“... a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States..." While I don't have any evidence, I don't think he was singling out a particular ethnicity when he called for this. I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem shooting a Muslim that identifies as Caucasian or Arabic.

Or as Noory would likely say: "jernlist".

Instead of going all "WARGARBLE you people don't think we did it right, you do it WARGARBLE", realize that you are the ones that volunteered to do this. Yes, I will give you props for stepping up and hosting. But if you can't handle the side effects, don't take the goddamn pill. This place has become a viper pit, and you should realize that no matter what position you take or what you say on the air, you're going to get criticized. At this point, you're starting to sound like what you've accused bateman, and to a lesser extent, (redacted) of acting like.

And I think the best question (I won't be listening or calling, so someone else will have to do it) would be how she feels about Art quitting bellgab for her?

Don't normally listen to the GabCast. I don't like the "morning zoo" atmosphere of too many co-hosts trying to talk over each other. Decided to give this one a listen because, well, drama.

Regarding the (redacted)/bateman fracas: My perception is that bateman politely announced he was stepping away from DMDN for 'reasons', (redacted) decided to exacerbate the situation, and it degenerated from there. Of course the whole thing could have been handled with more aplomb on both sides, but I completely understand bateman's desire for equal time to defend himself when (redacted) called in. It seems as though there are more than few people on the forum who accuse bateman of acting out of line, but give (redacted) a pass when she acted the same way, if not worse.

Regarding the hosts: I understand the desire to want to keep the peace, but you just ended up coming off like milquetoasts. If you didn't want to devote the show to that situation, then ask them to give a brief statement, offer the chance for each to give a brief rebuttal, then move on with whatever topics you want. Or even just tell them to not use this platform for this and end both calls. It's more than a little disingenuous to say that "we didn't want it to be like that", but keep them both on for the entire show because drama = listeners.

I agree with P*B's assessment that if the topics you want to discuss are so important to you, then don't take calls until the end of the program. It ends up becoming a disjointed "party line" that, I personally believe, becomes too hard to listen to.

What's the deal with the TV atop the TV?  Early attempt at stereo viewing?  Predecessor to picture-in-picture?

My great-grandparents had the same setup in their house. The TV on the bottom was one of honkin' huge consoles, and seemed to only get 2 channels clearly. The smaller TV on top got the other 3 channels more clearly. It was weird.

Trump just says what the people are thinking:
- Immigration is a catastrophe.
- ISIS isn't an existential threat, but vermin should get for the exterminator.
- Jeb is a dullard riding the dynasty thing.
- When foreigners hear that the Americans are coming to negotiate, they have to fight the giggles.
- Muslims won't take out their own trash so they all  pick up the stink.
- Putin has run rings around Obama and NATO, so who's brighter?
- When the Framers said "natural-born", they probably weren't thinking foreign-born with one American parent.
And he has a record of accomplishing something besides networking and fund raising.

But you're right that the rest of them are mostly jokes.

You forgot
- Laziness is a trait in the blacks. But I have a great relationship with them.
- The Mexicans are bringing crime and raping people. But some of them are good people.
- The only people that should be handling money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.
- That all women flirt with me, consciously or unconsciously. But that's to be expected.
- That I am the best at everything. Everyone else are losers.

From what I have seen, Obama is sending a large portion of the refugees to conservative states. Is that to "punish" conservative states? Is it to create more potential democrat voters?  Or is it simply to get a lot more people dependent on the state, so that the federal government has more control of more peoples lives?

There is no rationale answer. In my mind it is treason.

Maybe since "red states" are the biggest suckers of the government teat, Obama figures that he couldn't be making things that much worse.
