That dude is bretty smart. His comes off as a little austie to me. When he's speaking, I think he kind of only half completes a thought before jumping to his next thought. I get why he comes across as muddled in print now. But his comprehension of the state this country is in is brilliant.

What other White Supremacists do you think are brilliant, VoteQuimby? Watched any David Duke speeches lately you'd like to say are insightful?

It was a snarky thing for Savage to say - like something you would expect out of The Daily Show - Savage can do better.

Have you ever HEARD Savage's show. No he cannot do better.

The only case in which TDS has done anything comparable has been in their coverage of Trump's lascivious comments about his own daughter. All they do is quote them.

Oh, here's this piece of trash. A sewer is backed up somewhere if this person is floating around again.

Meaning, of course, that you remember me humiliating you by questioning your premises to the point you couldn't think of what else to do but insult me.

A Merry Christmas to you, too, dumbass.

Something along the lines of signaling no more business as usual, that we're no longer going to cower to PRC Communist Party threats.  It will be nice to have a President for a change who believes other countries ought to be a little more concerned about our reaction to them, rather than the other way around.  Worked for Reagan.

So what do you call it when Trump then sends a tweet lying that the Taiwanese president-elect actually called HIM rather than it being the other way around? Doesn't that look like a guy covering his ass?

Okay, Trumpies.

Explain to me the advantages of the Trumpster riling up the Chinese by speaking to the newly elected Taiwanese president. And, further, explain to me how lying on twitter that the Taiwanese president called him first is a sign of the Trumpster being "stronger" than the "weak" Obama. Because to me that looked like a major snafu on Trump's part. Either that or he's being manipulated by fanatics around him to pick this fight. In the first case, he's an idiot. In the second case, he's a manipulated idiot.

How is cheesing off the Chinese over a damn phone call GOOD?

"If McConnell wants some help on his pet projects well then he is going to have to remove the rules."

There are no earmarks anymore.

I am also for Mitch McConnell doing away with the filibuster. That way when Dems take control of the Senate back, they can do to Trump exactly what the GOP did to Obama.

Why would she have responded to an ad in a British paper? See the pound sterling sign in the ad next to it?

Good lord this is hard to listen to. Sounds like a crazy lady in a psychedelic sundress has sat at my table at a cafe in Portland and begun to harangue me. Pleeeeese go away.

Radiating energies? Law of circulation? Having the experience of what I'm creating?

Ugh.

I don't remember this ever taking place, but I probably haven't heard all his shows. If you know the date when he is thought to have interviewed the character known as Titor, I'd sure like to know it.

Yet the number of listeners this week is actually more than the show began with. The share is very very far down, though. Has there been a gigantic increase in listeners to streaming radio since July?

This is because there isnt the science based studies and medical school teachings of pot intake studies like there is of alcohol and cigarettes.  Your healthcare professionals cant be concerned about something that they havent been taught about.

There is more tar in pot gram for gram.

Your cardiologist certainly cant be condoning pot use in the cardiac patient, thats bad medicine IMO.

Apparently true about the tar, but studies aren't showing the same level of harm in lungs as tobacco causes. And we only have theories about why.

Then I heard him defending Donald Trump and saying that he WAS NOT responsible for all the racism and hate/fear mongering that has gone on in some of Trump's rallys. Huh?

I can't remember whether Art actually defended Trump against the charge of making racist and hate/fear-mongering statements. But he did--inaccurately--say moveon.org was responsible for the cancellation of the Chicago rally. In truth, Trump himself cancelled and the violence followed the cancellation.

I thought that Art heard a  lot of concerns from callers that caused him to rethink a full commitment to Trump support. By the end of the broadcast he was reduced to saying he was "interested" in Trump and wishfully asserting Trump was mix of conservative and liberal tendencies and that this was why Art found him appealing.  Sadly, we really can't know what Trump's tendencies really are, since he has adopted so many.

For the 96th time an argument based on what a person has done is not an argument based on the person's inborn traits. Ad hominem argument is based on the traits of the person making the argument. I am saying bateman/votequimby needs to spend his time elsewhere based on what bateman/votequimby has said and done. Not based on his ethnicity, religion, lens prescription or any number of other traits unrelated to his argument.

Learn what ad hominem arguments really are. It's what smart people do.

VoteQuimby/bateman,

When you contended with Heather on the gabcast, you behaved not just in an ungentlemanly fashion, but very much like an adolescent boy denied a video game by his mother. Do you imagine I'm the only one who knows who you are here?

You're being laughed off this board bateman. And you should be laughed out of broadcasting too.

Go out and get a real job.

Me? I'm on Spring Break.

Here's a puzzle for you: who the Hell in your paranoiac world is ALSO on the Left and an unashamed SJW? Probably nobody else.

All I am is a mere observer of the forum and your own personal Joseph Welch.

Certainly no Republican would ever have gotten away with "losing" so many emails involved in an investigation, right?  ::)

White House on Emails: "We Screwed Up"

By JOEL ROBERTS CBS/AP April 12, 2007, 11:27 AM

The White House admits that some e-mails about the U.S. Attorney firings may have been destroyed and that some staffers may have improperly done official business on Republican Party e-mail accounts, CBS News White House correspondent Jim Axelrod reports.

The claim that e-mails sent on a Republican Party account might have been lost was challenged Thursday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, who quipped that even his teenage neighbor could find them.

"They say they have not been preserved. I don't believe that!" Leahy shouted from the Senate floor as the dispute over the firing of federal prosecutors continued at a high pitch. "That's like saying the dog ate my homework. It doesn't work that way."

"You can't erase e-mails, not today. They've gone through too many servers," said Leahy, D-Vt. "Those e-mails are there; they just don't want to produce them. We'll subpoena them if necessary."

Separately, Leahy's committee approved â€" but did not issue â€" new subpoenas to compel the administration to produce documents and testimony about the firings.

Another 1,000 pages of documents are about to be released by the Justice Department investigators, Axelrod reports.

White House officials insisted the administration is making a genuine effort to recover any missing e-mails that had been sent on an account sponsored by the Republican National Committee.

"I understand his point, but he's wrong," said spokeswoman Dana Perino.

But while Perino pushed back on questions about the e-mails, she also made an uncommonly candid admission.

"We're being very honest and forthcoming," she added. "I hope that he would understand the spirit in which we have come forward and tried to explain how we screwed up our policy and how we're working to fix it."

I think the moderators of this site must share some blame for Art leaving. I saw a lot of truly gutter-level stuff just allowed to sit in these discussion groups without being removed. It can't be that big a job to respond to reports of libelous nonsense promptly.

Oh, and while we're on the moderators, could you reset it so that we don't get locked for several minutes out of reporting steaming pile messages after we report one?

Gassy Man and the other one who made those erroneous markings in brackets [didn't bother to remember your nick]:

An ad hominem attack seems to be whatever you guys think it is, not what it really is, an attack on the personal attributes of the arguer in lieu of a real response to the argument. You two believe the ad hom attack not only involves the person, but what the person has done in the past, especially if it has value in assessing what the person is saying today.

Under your definitions, if I refuse to believe you because you have told repeated lies in the past, I am attacking you personally.  If I say your repeated use of "logical fallacy" identification to shame people makes you look petty, I'm committing an ad hominem. I have judged you based on your past actions and I'm not to do it.

So if I'm to act logically, I can't consider your past actions or statements. That's an ad hominem. I'm to be used as an example in these classes if I describe my thinking on bellgab.

A word to gassy man from another teacher of critical thinking: yes, it's awfully impressive you have learned all these logical fallacy names and that you enjoy pointing out when we use them. But how does that do credit to your own argument? How does that help with your own credibility if you make yourself vulnerable to the charge of unctuousness? And isn't it true that the best arguments (that is, those most likely to persuade their audiences) benefit from close study of the audiences themselves? You betray a lack of knowledge about the circumstances from which redacted emerged and became Heather Wade. Then you attack her lack of experience and technique, even her intellect and you do so in your schoolmaster voice, seeming to assume you'll be echoed approvingly. No, sir.  To quote Aristotle, "You are not wrong, Walter. You are just an asshole." Then someone says so. Then you come out firing the fallacies list at us. We're supposed to salute you.

Is that the way you want to live your life, sir? Is that the way you teach? Surely not. It puts me in mind of the story of Stonewall Jackson reading the surveying textbook to his cadets at The Citadel. When they'd ask him a question, he'd simply start over on his reading of the chapter. Not helpful. Not teaching. Stonewall's calling would come later. Not to teaching.

You're demonstrating you've been a good pupil of logical fallacies. That's all you're doing. You've succeeded. Enjoy it.

And now we know who you are.

Clyde Lewis is likely already under contract with the network he works for now. He'd have to be bought out. If Art bailed out of the show due to disappointing revenues, a buyout would be unlikely.

So has Snoory commented on Art's taking umbrage at this remark and then deciding to come after his affiliates shortly after?

My theory: Art has signed a deal with a terrestrial radio network. But this will mean he'll have to run more ads on his show. It might also mean that the subscription cost to that network's programming might go up. But early signups to his show will be locked in to their original rate for quite a while. Get in while the gettin' is good.
