I recall back in the classic days (mid 90s) Art provided totally free archives of all his c2c shows via broadcast.com
It was only when PremRat networks took over the show that they greedily only offered them for money...
Art has always said he is a "pirate" at heart.  8)

I believe those old shows are now a property of Yahoo!.  It is likely they were all deleted, but still might be stored on some hard drive somewhere in a "vault".  If I had only known how valuable those shows would come to be.  I am sure I downloaded most, if not all of them, and if I recall, they were in *.ra (Real Audio) format.

I can tell Wells is trying to mold his performances, but all his long pauses before he can think of his next word are painful to me.

Not to mention that I'm not really the Bible-thumping audience he's playing to.  :-\

Yep, doesn't seem like your cup of tea.

it was kreskin's dishonesty that got him kicked and banned from the show.

That is one of my favorites moments from the show.  So much so that I remember listening to this show (on a recording I made) back in 2003.   Yes, it was great listening to the weasel get banned and hung up on.  What a fraud that guy is.

Agreed. Too much Stupid, not enough Random.

I was thinking the same thing actually.  We need a politics only thread again.

Now for something random:

Squash is a food I'll eat on occasion.

Looks like Noory is taking another unexpected Friday night off tonight, giving us another 3-day Noory-Free weekend.

Hooooray!  I might just tune in tonight!

QuoteDidn't he take off Friday just a couple weeks ago, plus his holiday week off?
Why not give Fridays regularly to another host Noory and just be done with it?  8)

Oh wow, I wish he would.  What a splendid suggestion.

This is true to an extent, Brzezinski was meddling in that part of the world a year before the Soviets invaded, but the aid to the mujahideen increased exponentionally in 1981-83, especially with the Saudis, who were far more copperative with Reagan than Carter. But every President from Truman to Reagan had a "Commie" fixation and threw endless money and resources into the Cold War. Where I give Carter credit is that he realized there were two sides in the Middle East conflict, unlike most of his predecessors and successors. He actually tried the peace thing instead of the war approach...
And JFK put troops in Vietnam, the Dominican...so every president we've had in at least the last 80 years have been War Whores, but to varying extents. The worst being LBJ and Bush 43.
From global research:
Question: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs ["From the Shadows"], that American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. In this period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.

The War whores will never allow Ron Paul to be President. They'd never allow him to get a nomination, I believe the War whores have been threatened twice in the past 50 years. The first guy caught a bullet in his head in Dallas, and the second guy( Carter) was set up for humiliation with the Iranian hostage crisis/it's failed rescue and that ordeal helped sink his re-election.

It was Jimmy Carter that began the United States of America's involvement in Afghanistan.  He was a war whore.

talk radio sucks. it's sad that i actually thought newt gingrich was a decent candidate a few months ago. i take it back. i didn't know much about him. he's insane, and his "wife" scares me.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I actually heard Newt today referred to as the "tea party candidate" by someone.,..,.,.,.,.,    The tea party has now dissolved.  If only the tea party was as discerning to republicans as they are to democrats

Last night Wells' opening hour again demonstrated his intent to take the Saturday program deep into fringe right territory; C2C will soon mean Crank-to-Crank.
Cranks have long been a part of Coast to Coast AM, nothing new.

I have always liked B&N.  I think they will remain competitive in the e-book market.  If I were to buy a new e-reader I would go with the Nook, because it supports the epub format.

Any good reads over the holidays, anyone?

I have a few but I'll have to post them another time.

I have a nook color. I love it! I had to stop buying physical books. I ran out of room on my shelves. However, I do miss physical books sometimes. When I do, I just go to the library. You can also borrow ebooks for your ereader.

Do your eyes get tired reading on the LCD screen, and if so, do you wish you'd bought a e-reader with and e-ink screen?

Yes, and then we must endure as celeb news is treated as important.

Still, it may just come down to taste, but there is some really fantastic music being written, but it isn't played on the radio too much.

How many people here use e-readers, and which one do you use?

I have a Kindle (first gen) a family member gave me.  I find it handy for traveling, but I still like to hold a physical book in my hands.  I feel torn between the convenience of e-books, and actually having a physical book on the self.
