I am pretty sure we had the first black person on a bobsled team in 1975/76. He didn’t come back the second year. There were a few more starting in 1980 for the Winter Olympics tryouts in Lake Placid.

🇳🇪 Nigeria has a women’s team this year.

Willy Davenport competed in 1980 teying to become the first person to medal in both the summer and winter olympics. It does say he was the first in the Winter Olympics. He seemed like a good guy but I don’t think he liked going fast.
