After discussing this with my wife and reading more stories,  I think the hospital was responsible for Glenn Frey's death.  He caught pneumonia in the hospital after intestinal surgery and in his weakened condition, the pneumonia was too much for him.  Hospitals are hotbeds for all sorts of viruses and Glenn was obviously exposed to one while in recovery.  Hospitals should do more to protect surgical cases from non-surgical.  They should isolate the patients with viruses and have separate doctoral and nursing staffs.

Preventable medical errors account for over 400,000 deaths per year. Most in hospitals. Think of it...over 1000 people every day die as a result of a mistake by a healthcare provider.

It's amazing how often people are carried off by pneumonia, but I really don't think it's something you can prevent that easily. Doctors refer to it as an 'insult' to the system and it is very hard to get rid of if you are already poorly and on other combinations of drugs, which further complicates treatment. And if it spreads to both sides then even physically healthy people are going to find themselves up against it to recover. You often find that, although you may have a serious illness, it isn't that that actually kills you, but your immune system becomes so compromised that pneumonia will creep in and finish the job.

Seems like a month already, but it's only been 9 days since Bowie died, so I think I can still get away with this.

I accidentally came upon this 5 min interview from 2002, and it if verifies a few things for me, i.e. that he was more than a pretty face, and that had read up on some History, Philosophy, and Religion, and was quite sober with his Spirituality, take on things, and outlook.

There is definitely a tipping point with bacterial infections... Once you go over, no amount of antibiotics will help...

I just heard on the news yesterday that he was touring with the Eagles right up till December. So, that was quick!  :(

QuoteJack Steven is the CEO of Kuba Entertainment, according to a Linkedin profile, and previously worked with Bowie in his role as an A&R man. He also possesses an astoundingly attractive first name.

I am disappointed that no one here clued me into this story before now. I feel like you guys aren't staying on task anymore.

You're probably right. I should finally drop the assumption that the human race posesses any credit-worthiness at all in the first place.  :D

RIP Abe Vigoda

That's a shame, and no doubt a big surprise to all the people who mistakenly thought he died years ago.

Sean92008

Wow... Never thought he would have ever truly died.  The rumors have gone on for so long.

By my count he's now died three times.

Former Dio rocker Jimmy Bain has died, aged 68.

The bassist passed away over the weekend, according to Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell, who performed with him in both Dio and their new band, Last in Line.

While Campbell did not disclose the cause of his friend's death, he paid tribute to Bain in a touching post on Facebook.com.

He wrote, "It's with the heaviest of hearts that I must confirm the news of the passing of our dear friend and Last In Line band mate, Jimmy Bain. It was Jimmy who gave me my first big break in the music industry and for that I am forever indebted."

"Jimmy's struggles with his demons were well documented through the years, but over the last 18 months he had finally won that battle and he was bright and lucid and motivated throughout the writing and recording of the new record," Campbell continued. "He leaves behind him a rich legacy of work from Rainbow, through Wild Horses, Dio, and finally, Last In Line. Jimmy was immensely proud of our new album and his input to it was immeasurable. He was a very kind and gentle and generous soul and our lives were greatly enriched for having known him. We will continue to celebrate his life through his music."

Also: Chief of the Waponis in Joe vs. the Volcano. In a parallel universe, he is still alive.
