Message from
Art Bell

I found the following message (see attached mp3) to be be extremely prescient and informative - perhaps a clue that even 9 years ago, when Art recorded this message, he knew that the "One-neuron Nooron" was not the correct choice. You be the judge.

NOTE: This was part of a longer recording - I edited it for brevity and relevance.

Enjoy

Thanks so much - as Art said, "never say never..." -- so there is always hope that Art shall return to radio host ????

So I edited that noory video. I was going to edit the whole thing and have him saying stupid shit, but then I realized he already says stupid shit. Also, I'm sick, and listening to noory when you have a fever really, really makes your head hurt. So here it is. perhaps in the future, Ill make a proper video of the Nooron. Until then, enjoy-

George Noory Singing Elvis

Coaster -- you are naughtily brilliant! Such an impressive video that should be up for a Grammy Award... but what category?

Welcome! I'm sorry we all had to meet under such tragic circumstances.

lol, George no longer needs the first Sunday night of the month "Emerging Artists" for he can play his, and I quote him, "I have a whole litany of songs!"

Definition of LITANY
1
: a prayer consisting of a series of invocations and supplications by the leader with alternate responses by the congregation
2
a : a resonant or repetitive chant <a litany of cheering phrases â€" Herman Wouk> b : a usually lengthy recitation or enumeration <a familiar litany of complaints> c : a sizable series or set <a litany of problems>

I afraid I can't help with any editing. I'm still trying to get that voice out of my mind - "Wuhiiiiise muhhhiiin suhaaaayeeee, honly fuhhoools ruhuuusshhhh hiiihiiin...." Over and over and over.

And then that perverse, self-torturing part of me takes over and tells me, "Think about what he'd sound like singing Hey Jude!"

Can't someone make it stop?
lol...  George always has said that the C2C audience is the "most intelligent and best informed"....

A challenge to those out there who have more experience dubbing videos than me.. Take this YouTube 'classic' and make it .. better.
Voiceover? Music.. something? .. Anything. Maybe nothing.
Maybe even play the Elvis singing overtop when Noory speaks?
I'd do it if I could.
It's worth a shot for whoever is off this Presidents Day

Interview with George Noory.mov

now you are fanticising...wanting to create a sci-fy horror flick!

"A SYMBIOTIC ENGINE!?!?"
"Chitosan sweeps fat out of the dig-es-tive tract LIKE A BROOM!"
"You have nothing to lose, BUTTHEFAT!"

lol, those are great examples, and I got a kick out Art at times--- it was unscreened emotion as well as the unscreened callers....
keep them coming Scruff and all....

"Let's take a look-see"

when ARt Bell signed off or let a caller do it it was 5am ... and the Inca Dance would often be the last song I heard before i went to sleep for two hours before I went to work.

How life changes....

loved that Art Bell expression too...
and, there was a time when he LOVED Crystal Gayle and he would tell the story of her coming to his studio and how she had recorded "Midnight in the Desert" for him...and that was the final song played at the end, back in the day, when it was Art Bell's C2C show.

However, is the show really the best forum for this? It seems so out of place, even for this new Coast to Coast. I still can't help but feel like he's preparing the audience for something from left field with this. I think it's telling that this kind of apprehension exists in the first place. No one is sure of what lunatic move might come next.
WHAT HAPPENED

Well, I think you are on to something, cause if you listen closely again (pre-singing), listen to Tommy retort...  "I have, I have heard you done this song"....(did'nt use the word sang) and then Tommy quickly retorts again, "You told me that you sang that, but I left the wedding early..so here we go" ...(as he is forced to play the world debut, launching yet another one of George's many talents....
yes, as Agent Orange identified what was bothering me....out of place for the C2C forum.
George has repeatedly said that he feels responsible to use the C2C platform to reach the world with important concerns.  Well, this was enough of a separation from what Art Bell established to begin with, but now...what is going on? Lisa, Tommy, and the elephant is in the room, but what to do???

Or am I just over thinking this? The karaoke stunt puts up a red flag for me but I'm not sure why, aside from the obvious.

Now you are getting us some where with this concern...the red flag...what is the ulterior motive? :o

all I need is for everybody to continue speculating whether or not Art will continue posting here.  ;D

Well, as MV said, he is "lurking" from time to time ---Feb 16 at 11:11 pm
as was documented on his profile:
so...maybe he just needs to be encouraged or welcomed to post every time or any time... that he has time, that is...

That drawn out 'ohhhhhhh?', when a guest would say something astonishing.  The more astonishing and unexpected, the longer he would draw it out.

'Go on' if a guest hesitated, but was doing fine.

'Caller, do you have a question?'

THANKS for the memories ....
keep them coming....
another was,  "In a New York minute!"
and I loved it when he said it drawn out ....."Ohhhh myyyy"

Art got that from the movie "Young Frankenstein" where Igor substituted a jar labeled "Abnormal" containing a disembodied human brain that was put into the frankenstein monster.
Igor thought the brain came from someone named "Abby Normal"  ;D

Aha! Thanks Morgus, there was a time when he kept saying it over and over and remarked that he liked that word... and then that laugh, actually there were several types of Art laughs, depending on the situation.
Miss that Art Bell... the Edgar Allen Poe of the air waves!

Not so much a saying, just the tone in his voice

Ah yes!!! The tone in his voice and how he used his voice to convey emotions of worry or uneasiness and it brought the stories to life as he would host the "Ghost to Ghost"
Another saying, "That brought the chills up my spine"

The initial weekend as host, John B. Wells referred to himself as, , , ,
"Host for the Mother Ship George"   and I thought that kind of odd, but I noticed that he changed the next weekend intro to , , ,
"host for the Mother Ship Coast"     ;)

Radio and Podcasts / George debuts as a Vocalist
February 18, 2012, 01:00:07 AM
We are in for a treat at the end of Open Lines, for George announced that he will then debut his voice...yet another aspect of his many expertise and talents.  However, if he does as he has previously proposed to us before ... to announce his candidacy for the presidency this year, he is thinking that he is going to get  one up on at least one of the opponents in the vocal competition.
