FEB is coming up. And with FEB comes a certain holiday. Perhaps Doc should send her a free subscription, under a new assumed name, to FastBlast or Insider or whatever they are calling it now subscription. So that she can contact Mr.Norway again!? It would also go well with some 1-800-Teddybear/Candy offer to send him, via TOMMEE (candy would be taken,) to mend fences.
Doesn’t Mr. Norway send out an autographed photo with all subscriptions?  That would be perfect.  I understand this is the one currently going out to all his Insiders.

They are best described as sourly bitter.
Not surprised. I’m guessing they like to splash around a lot for attention but reel in pretty easy.

Speaking of which. The new Covid strain out of Brazil is super groovy. Highest infectious rate yet with a higher kill rate. Coming your way Doc.
It sounds like “The Last Man On Earth.”

Are they tasty?

Noory, stop coming on to my wife! She’s not into you. She’s just obsessed with you. >:(
Ha!  You need to get her a hobby, Doc.  Like spending all her time on EllGab.

In this time of crisis instead of focusing on real problems (Corona-Chan, homelessness, crime, small business closures, traffic, sky-high property taxes, failing schools, illegals, etc) I was informed by mail (yuuge packet with multiple flyers, in multiple languages) that now we will be getting another bin so that we can recycle unused food and lawn clippings.

I'm all for recycling- when it is easy and profitable. And compost is a good thing for your garden but now three bins to deal with, at different times? What genius thinks that rotting food in a bin on the street or alley will be pleasant, especially when we reach some of 100+F weeks in summer? Vermin and stray dogs, the smell, threats of bacteria, homeless going through them to find something to eat, increased bug activity, when they accidentally get knocked over by a car or a strong gust of wind....? And what about urban housing, condos, dorms, and apartments? We talking PILES of rotting food sitting there for a week, in the heat? Genius move.
And in further news, you may want to hold on to that “unused food.”  Maybe even the grass clippings.  Granny can make some tasty boiled greens.  Assuming she can make a campfire.

Hi, as you can see, Jackstar is still "over-sharing" to much, much greater than Falkie-esque levels.

We could make a thread about the Jackstar oversharing thread if needed, but at this point, what difference does it make?

Lilith!  That’s it.  Looks like she was here Jan 10 so they haven’t apparently gotten her yet.

Heh, heh, heh.  Praise Lee.  Speaking of MIA, what about The One Who Used to be Brig?  Sorry, I’m drawing a blank on what she changed her name to.

So the most likely scenario is Lee has ditched his wife and kids for Azz and they’re hiding out in Swaziland.  Sounds legit.

Shouldn’t at least 3 of those statues be removed, anyway?  I can only imagine the social atrocity that must supposedly represent Alabama. Whoops!  I guess I didn’t have to imagine for long.

https://producerhive.com/ask-the-hive/odd-vs-even-harmonic-distortion/

Tube distortion is synonymous with warmth and clarity. This is because the tubes create even harmonics which sound subtler and rounder. Conversely, if we then turn on our solid-state amp and do the same, the distortion will produce odd harmonics which are often described as grittier and more aggressive in tone.
That’s the big plus for me, Doc, the warmth and the clarity.  Full solid state stereos, at least within my price range, just don’t sound as good to my ears.

GNS indeed.
Ha!  I’ve been expecting Clyde Lewis to be all over this but he’s been preoccupied with what you’d expect for these times.  I expect he and Knapp will be getting to it, while Mr. Norway is doing snake oil infomercials and snoring thru women of woo, interspersed with Poe readings and cornball comedy replays.

The music comes from Forbidden Planet.  The creators, Bebe and Louis Barron, were among the first to create electronic music.  They did it by overdriving electronic circuits - ring modulators - so that they were actually blowing out vacuum tubes.

Fascinating.  A few years back, I picked up a modern version stereo tube amp.  I really enjoy the type of sound it produces.  Plus, the lit up vacuum tubes look cool at night. ;)

Yes exactly, its an alternate theme from the classic scifi movie "Forbidden Planet"
Hoagie talked about this early on when his show started and why he chose that theme song.
There are youtube videos showing and playing the original 45rpm record with this music that Hoagland used:

Thanks for the further info, Morgus.  I’ve always been a big fan of 50’s, early 60’s Sci-Fi flicks and find the little details about them interesting.

We found this years ago.  It is music written for Forbidden Planet but not ultimately used in the movie, or something like that.

Thanks, Dubb. I see where there’s a CD of the movie’s soundtrack. The music really did a great job of setting a “space” mood, at least for the era.  For RCH, it’s an appropriate opening for setting a “spacey” mood.  :D

I think RCH mentioned the music on one of his early shows...maybe even the first one he did...I don't know (or remember if RCH said) where the music originally came from. I think LGN started in the 1950s so it seems pretty "progressive" but not out of the realm of possibility for somebody to make an album of that type.

Surely the internet knows...
I did a little searching but with no success.  It almost sounds like something from the 50’s sci-fi classic “Forbidden Planet.”

... The fact that RCH has the hubris (IKR?) to use LJN's opening music doesn't take away anything. ;D
I didn’t know that.  Where does the LJN opening music originate?  Something LJN created or had created or borrowed from someone else?

My goodness. What a happy coincidence that they just so happen to have the resources to continue to produce new vaccines every year.

Colour me fucking shocked that this will never end...

“We are going to live with this virus, we think, forever,” he said during a panel discussion at the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference. Health officials will have to continuously watch for new variants of the virus, so scientists can produce vaccines to fight them, he said.
Nothing like having guaranteed demand.  Corona Chan looks to be great for Big Pharma, Big Tech, Amazon, and World Tyranny.  Welcome to our Brave New World.

Rest easy knowing Congress is getting vaccinated.  But, apparently, not soon enough.  Their local Walgreens must have plenty of vaccine in stock, though.
