I loathe Facebook and have never had an account. The total evilness of Facebook however has generated a better acceptance of Google in me. At they supply things that are useful and productive. Facebook is just blech. The thought of them scanning all the photo's for facial recognition makes me want to punch somebody.

Agreed! And your post made me genuinely LOL!

I'm listening too the show live on a Greyhound bus with wifi right now.

I'm a long time lurker here.  I must admit that I was a bit skeptical that Art Bell would pull off his internet based radio show successfully, especially considering all if the ups and downs of the past 15 years that he's had with Premiere and SiriusXM.  I thought that Art was a highly talented but unreliable personality considering his multiple retirements and unretirements.

That he's been able to pretty much work nonstop for the past four months largely uninterrupted is evidence that perhaps corporate radio is at fault here for all of Art Bell's troubles in the past.  I have to reconsider that whenever I thought Art Bell might have been unreasonable or erratic that it was perhaps the higher ups' mistreatment of him that brought out the worst in Art Bell.

Congratulations to Art Bell for making Dark Matter a success and for his making the best shows he's done in years.  Art Bell could make reading from a McDonald's menu sound like The most interesting thing in the world, he is that good.

Art is a consummate professional, but a bit too trusting/naïve. His issues have been mainly corporate. He's home now.

I'm tired and want to go to bed, but I'm really enjoying this show so I'm hanging in there.

Weird. I couldn't connect for about the last half hour. It just kept cycling and cycling. Anyone else?
If you refresh the page too quickly, the DDOS protection for the site kicks in. 10 seconds between page refreshes seems to be the magic number. That may have had something to do w/ it ?

Its weird how close some stuff is to you. We know more about space etc than some stuff in deep oceans, caves, underwater aquifers, etc.

Good evening.

You have something in common with most Caribbean islanders. They won't go in the ocean either.

I know some shrimpers on the coast who can't swim. Traditionally sailors didn't learn to swim in the old days but this is now!

The same people who bitch and moan about their privacy will post the most personal info on their fb pages--under their real names!  I'm there under an alias only, and never post pics of myself or my family. If you've noticed, when a story hits the news, it's often accompanied by people's personal photos off fb.  Essentially fb is a huge photo library and a cache of personal info free for anyone's use or misuse.  Most people there don't know or care to bother with the complicated privacy settings.

F*ck. Thanks for that. Now I got nightmares, but, I guess better than the dreams of showing up for a final and it already over or dreams about being lost in an airport parking lot trying to find my car and late to a meeting. Frustration? Stop that Freudian thinking....

WanagoBleu

One of my deepest dives, 256 ft, had me staging a one and a half hour decompression time. First stop was at 130 ft. People take books in the water to read during deco. 😁

Several years ago I saw a bunch of people in the masks outside some bank, I guess related to the comic/movie and the start of the ill-fated Occupy stuff. I was a funny scene because, wasn't too many people but it was a bit shocking and the mask is a good, sorta creepy, deal. Even ignoring the history, and Catholic stuff, which is very well known- especially if the authors are British, it is odd to me that attacking the only, at least a bit, 'democratic' or 'representative' institution is somehow a blow against royalty or despotism? Though, I guess like most terrorism, it helps escalate things.

Which part on "anarchist" do you not understand?  ;D

Remember, V for Vendetta first appeared in the early 80's during the height of the Thatcher era. Parliament was seen less as a symbol of democracy and more as a symbol of subverted, oppressive government.

"So" is the new "like".

I've been harping about this for two years. It's driving me batshit.
