Happy Mother's Day.  Have an easy, fast, natural refreshing facial  masque a couple times this week to get rid of winter bumps and dryness and just feel better.  Your skin is constantly filtering out impurities from your body.  A little boost of a natural facial actually goes a long way toward assisting your body's largest organ.

Moisturizing and Smoothing Honey Masque
Ingredients:  1/8 cup (2 Tbsp) honey
Time:  20 minutes
Directions:  Open your pores by putting a very warm, thick, wet cloth over your face a couple times.  Dry your face so the honey won't run.  Fanning it dry is a great way to feel good.  Spread the honey over your whole face - no need to skip the eyes, nose or mouth because honey is harmless.  Let it set for 10-20 minutes.  Re-apply fresh honey to any spots that dry out too soon.  It's okay if the masque does not dry.  Set a cool, wet, thick cloth over your face to loosen the honey at the end.  Rinse it and then gently use it to remove the honey.

Honey works as an equivalent to glycolic acid, hyaluranic acid and alpha-hydroxy acid.  Yet it is gentle and soothing, a true humectant.  Your skin should feel relaxed when you are finished, so there usually is no need to moisturize for a while.

Purifying and Toning Oatmeal Masque
Ingredients:  1 or 2 Tablespoons oatmeal and water, a smear of avocado or a dash of olive oil optional
Time:  8 minutes
Directions:  Open your pores as above, with a very warm, thick, wet cloth.  No need to dry.  Mix the oatmeal and water into a thick slurry.  If you have dry skin, first smear your an avocado peel or a dash of olive oil over your wet skin.  Apply the oatmeal to your face.  It is safe for eyes, nose and mouth but might annoy the eyelashes.  Let it set for about 8 minutes or until dry.  Fanning it dry is nice, too.  Gently rinse your face with cold water and apply moisturizer if needed.

Oatmeal tightens the look of pores and can cure skin of small problem areas, like rashes.  It is a little drying.  When it is this close to your face, you might notice it has a slight floral fragrance which usually goes unnoticed.

Oat Bath
Put a couple tablespoons of raw oats into a waterproof sachet or half of a nylon with a hole in it.  Knot it.  Let it set in your very warm bath.  Gently squeeze the "milk" out of it.  Oats have saponins, which are natural skin cleansers, and it can prevent your skin from springtime itching.  No need to rinse, and the tub will remain clean throughout.

Summing it Up
I hope this helps us breathe deeply, relax, and feel better.  If this message reaches one person, then it was worth it   ;)!  Happy Mother's Day!

LOL - Yes it should, but it's a problem web-designers have been dealing with since the advent of graphic browsers.  ;)
That's why M$ Expression - a web design freeware - had a preview function where you could view your code in different browsers to check the layout and formatting. (All browsers layout differently w/ the same code.)
It's your lappy that you bought and paid for - correct ?  (...or a Christmas gift ?)
If you're on the brink of homelessness, then it's time to run the 'Free' route.
It's your property, do with it what thou wilt.
I wouldn't go directly to an install, hence my previous recommendation to burn a live disk.
If your lappy doesn't have a disk drive (netbook or newer laptop,) burn it to a USB drive. You can pick up a 16 GB drive for about $10. (I'd recommend SanDisk - and stay away from PNY, as they are highly susceptible to ESD (Electro-Static-Discharge) which causes catastrophic failure. )

Note: A live disk (not USB) will run slower than when the distro is installed.
Make sure you set the machine to boot from the cd / usb, in the BIOS / EUFI.

https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-boot-from-a-usb-device-2626091

Once again, I'm going to recommend VUU-DO, because the  download size is tiny (If you're bandwidth limited,) - 347.1 MB, and it's extremely stable.

(Don't forget to go into the BIOS / EUFI and enable legacy support.)
https://neosmart.net/wiki/enable-legacy-boot-mode/

Burn it to disk, or USB.   https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14912/create-a-persistent-bootable-ubuntu-usb-flash-drive/
(The article above is for Ubuntu, but should work on all Debian derivatives like VUU-Do.)
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/en/help/guide/step3
(I've only included the (directly above) link because others may use this info for other purposes.)  ;)

Boot to the new (live) OS, and play with it to your hearts' content.
(Assume the changes you do in the live system will not persist when you power down.)

Tip:  '   su ufw enable   '      (turn on the firewall)        alt + t    to get to the terminal
Fire up synaptic and download a browser.  ;D
(synaptic  >  search term   '   web browser   ' )
If you want a graphic firewall interface, download   gufw.  (search in synaptic) or
'   su apt update   '       <enter>

===========================
Live User Information:

*Login Name = vuudo
*Password   = vuudo
*Root/Su password = root
===========================

'   apt install gufw   '     <enter>
    (It's only 261 KB)

This is a basic system. (unless you DL-ed the maximal version with PaleMoon Browser,) but all the basic functionality is there - it's just different than Doze.  ;)

There are other speed tweaks that will drop down the boot time (by approximately 2/3) and instantly launch programs - even large ones, but I'll save those for the _LINUX_ thread, sometime in the future.   ;)

Oh, this is a 'right-click' driven OS. Menus, control features, and other goodies pop up on right click. It takes some getting used to but is very handy and has a shallow learning curve.
The default for Virtual Destops is 1 Desktop. I find that 4, are very useful, and once you become accustomed to them - especially on a laptop / netbook, they become indispensable. (Check my screenshot a few posts back.)
To change the # of Desktops,  right click on any open desktop space to bring up the context menu and GoTo    (Configuration Header) Settings  >  Openbox Configuration Manager  >  Desktops    and set the   '   Number of Desktops   '  to what ever # you want.
(You can also rename them from there, although the renaming process is a bit quirky - double click the name and type in the new one, then you have to click off the highlight to get it to take.  Quirky, but it works.)

Damn long post, but I hope it helps.
(Just follow the above, general proceedure, for any distro you want to try.)
Yes, the laptop was an open-box exchange from clearance at Best Buys (my first time in, ever!).  I exchanged it because Dell's longtime defective space bars (unbeknownst to me prior) are causing milliions of American carpal tunnel and financial ripoffs.  So, the exchange here has been better lately now that I stopped using MS Edge.

Dear, I wouldn't go into bios unless my life depended on it.  Didn't even know laptops had that.  I am a tablet girl.  I did take some computer hardware and software classes in 2011.  One of the best things I ever did.  But anyhow.

Thank you for the warning me about PNY and failures due to static.  Good to know.  I am a walking, talking static electricity magnet.  My poor cat.  I've got to remember to discharge before petting her.

It's good to be reminded of Linux.  This is all a bit beyond my grasp though.  But it reminds me I need to try installing Libre Office again.  Thanks for pointing me toward those kinds of things.

Those kind of studies are like porn to me.  Did Google publish anything about SSDs?  The trajectory seems to be them replacing disk drives somewhere down the road, but I recall the joke about gallium arsinide being the future of semiconductors -- always has been, always will be.  If Google isn't doing the same kind of study on SSDs, that would be interesting indeed.
Mine was purchased in January and seemed great for a few months.  It's not bad - especially now that I'm not using MS Edge.

He should have a lottery and let one Coast listener be a guest at an event.  Pay a dollar to enter and all proceeds go to a charitable cause.
Nice idea.  The Coaster could be the one who picks out the ladies he lets #metoo him.  Or, they could be an usher.  Maybe the new-mother-hater would allow more mothers to come, even if they are breast-feeding, if there were ushers to help usher out fussing babies and their mother temporarily.

Well, any all all dollars and cents would go for my own personal needs.  I think if you put noreenlee (a pseudonym) into freebeg.com's search bar, you will find fundraising there.  But it's not for any venture other than personal.

Aliencon isn't really my thing.  And if I ever had a Youtube channel it would be for belly dancing, not tom foolery.  But I don't know how to belly dance, so it's going to be a while.  Thank you for the ideas and anything else.

Didn't George Noory promise an inbound studio cam?  Is that still a possibility?

I think it could work. Though I would also like to add Paul&Ella into this new network.  But I admit I'm curious about seeing some live-cam in some odd boarding-house situation with all the intrigues with food hiding, candy shaming, violent neighbors, dangerous candles, hoarding/privation, the politics, and general very malaise and odd situations. I feel bad for having the curiosity though.
Albrecht, It wasn't a boarding house.  It was a rambler with a family who rented an extra room to me.  I left, though.  Because their new couch surfer lady was violent.  Plus, the lease holder thought I betrayed her to the police (I did NOT).  Her mind was made up, though, so she asked me to leave.  I sacrificed $900 in belongings & $300 in food in order to leave quickly.

Don't feel bad for being curious.  That family was tenacious in their desire to live an alcoholic lifestyle, in a beautiful setting though.  Given just a little more job stability, I would have obviously left a lot sooner.  The very active 84-year old there always wanted an exercise bike, but the lease holder, her sister, would not allow it.  When I left, much to their surprise, I was able to leave behind a very heavy, solid steel exercise bike, with a solid steel wheel, a $10 Goodwill bargain.  I doubt they moved it very far very fast, so I hope the 84-year old got to enjoy it.  It was for her.

Currently, I am being trafficked as a rent-paying house cleaner for an abusive relative.  There is a reason I stayed with those people rather than come here.  Just kidding about the trafficking, though.

This is unbelievable.  As I sit here, she is gleaning the cupboards to donate to the post office pick-up food bank seasonal donation program.  Tuna, peanut butter, and a whole brown bag of perfect food is going out the door.  Holy cow.  The bag is so heavy she can hardly lift it.  Some of it is mine.  I dare not say much.  I rescued one bottle of teriyaki sauce just now.

This woman is insane.

For three weeks I've been rationing food, getting no work hours, and not receiving any assistance.  She knows this.  Anything she donates is likely to come right back in via my trips to the food bank.  I don't like going to the food bank.  It's not fun and frankly it's physically grueling and puts my back out.  And now she's cycling stuff out so I have to make more trips.  She is cussing because the bag is so heavy she hurt herself.

Oops, there goes one of my microwave popcorns.  She said I should donate it to show gratitude.  Please pray for me.

The bag is going out the door.  I think she wants to impress the neighbors or make this condo association look good.  I said, "You don't have to do this.  You left the Catholic church a long time ago.  We need the food."  She said she's just being a good human being.  A good human being would buy me groceries right now.  (But don't worry - I did apply for welfare & it is being finalized next week.)

How immoral would it be of me to raid it tonight?  I'd have to hide the food.  Oh, I guess the postal employee picks it up in an hours.  I can't believe she is doing this.  Ironic, given the recent topic.  And she questions why I leave food in the car.  Just like Dad - he always had a secret stash in the car.  Chocolate, sardines, etc... And he was not overweight in those years.

Deep breath.  It is good to support the food bank.  She said, "The more you give, the more you get."  Do you think that's true?  I've tried that and the results have been 50-50.  I don't think God or fate or karma is a vending machine.  I think things are more reasonable and intricate than quid pro quo.  I think people should give from their surplus.  I think giving to the point of sacrifice is okay when you are in your prime, healthy years.  But babies, the fragile elderly and people with blood sugar/dietary issues should not sacrifice to the point of jeopardizing their health.

Don't stuff it through your face all at once, exercise a little self control. Give it to someone else if you don't want it. Throwing food away is obscene. Unless it's gone off I don't think there's any excuse for throwing food away. Especially for someone like you who always complains they're broke.
My first corporate supervisor, a wonderful woman in sales, once told me a very truthful adage:
Everyone has discretionary income.  $1.99 for ice cream a few times a year is not the reason I lack work.  Although being thinner might help me in interviews.

No one here and none of these well-to-do neighbors would want my partly-open leftover quart of ice cream.  They would ridicule the quaint eccentricity of such a knock on their door.  In today's world, do we really take food from near-strangers?  If the ice cream turned out to be contaminated, would I be criminally liable?

Transportation is at least .50 per mile.  The nearest homeless people are at least a couple miles away, and they are not always congregated and there is no freezer.  The shelter is 5 miles away and I doubt they would take an opened container which had been sampled.  Surely you don't suggest I pay mileage to donate it?  I wouldn't be passing by that way for at least another week.

I would encourage you to reconsider.  Perhaps you don't have addictions or compulsions.  Frankly, I will always be untrustworthy around alcohol, ice cream, chocolate, and spare change laying around common spaces in my dwelling.  Are there any things you would have difficulty resisting day in and day out?

Perhaps you had good meals & snacks as a minor.  I think when a well is watered, it doesn't crack.  My well wasn't watered, so maybe it cracked.  For many years, breakfast was mustard out of the container, or sneaking into the vitamins (or whatever we could reach standing on the counter unsupervised).  There was a hospital trip related to that, but the nurse did not perceive neglect.  Lunch was non-existent, until I was old enough to make my school lunches, which were small & cumbersome.  Since my parents wouldn't buy a thermos or juice or milk, I talked the school vendor into letting me have free milk for a while, but that gravy train ended.  I asked my parents to pay for it (.25/day in 1970s) but they said no to school lunch milk.  All home products were non-fat/skim.  If we had dinner, it was a can of beans shared by 5 people, some meat & starch, but never enough and if you took the last piece, Mom hated you forever because it was seen as a sign of greed.  If dinner wasn't made, we children would share a can of soup.  I remember being amazed when I grew up, that in all my life I had never seen my mom open more than one can for any meal preparation.  She always made one can suffice, whether 3 people or 5 people ate from it.  Weird.

I do credit my parents with usually staple ingredients on hand.  And holidays and some Sundays with Dad's cooking were great.

But generally, if Mom didn't like a food, nobody got it.  Period.  Ever.  I think I went 18 years without a banana.  She was always on a weight-loss fad diet.

WE WERE NOT POOR AT ALL.  Mom was ascetic for some reason, and Dad didn't know any better, because he grew up almost destitute.  Despite this deprivation, my weight nonetheless tended to rise.  To manage it, I went on 24-36 hour water fasts about 10 times per year.  Fasting was alright.  But after an injury to my pancreas as an adult, fasting is risky.

Don't feel sorry for me.  I had a great childhood.  First boyfriend at 5 years old, little hottie name Gary.  Stars of the show in pre-school and kindergarten.  Then a cascade of Brownies, tumbling, summer camps, camping, hiking, Campfire girls, ballet, tap, piano, cross country skiing, gymnastics, volleyball, track, community theater, drama, academic excellence, foreign exchange students, foreign exchange...  and a few years before they divorced Dad took control and started being Mr. Mom in addition to working FT so he started stocking fruit juice and ramen for snacking.

At this point, after 50 years of PCOS, having excess junk food on hand is far more obscene than discarding it.

As far as not "stuffing" it, ice cream is a difficult item to lock up.  Housemate would not want a safe in freezer.  Other junk I can put out of arm's reach, but the freezer is what it is - at eye level and arm's length.

A couple of thoughts...

Yup- RS was not very nice to Damon. However, the explanation offered almost makes him sound like a victim who had no choice but to post something "obscene." The fact is that we are each responsible for our behaviour online and in real life. If you do something- it is you who did it. This explanation ignores responsibility.  Your comments simply go a bit further than the ones I expressed.  We are in agreement.  I didn't see the point in taking my expression so far, because it's almost impossible to be a teacher AND a friend.  Point is, I'd rather be Damon's friend than his teacher.  However, I do tell him when he's become the monster, so to speak.

If you follow the "when in Rome" school of thought- you had better be equipped with your own sword and shield and be prepared to have an eye gouged out. Sometimes it is better to stay home on the farm than fight in the Colosseum.  I don't follow the school of Rome thought.  I hate it.  But it was worth mentioning because basically, what is good for the goose is good for the gander.  If others are doing it and not being punished, Damon is well within his perogative to join the bad activity.  Doesn't make it right, though.

Finally, I disagree that it is best to stay a victim and wait. If you decide not to ignore a taunt, it's best to choke the fucker out. To be honest, MV has probably done Damon a favour. Some people really don't do well on this forum- the Colosseum was not for him, his choke hold was weak, and he could not ignore posters.  I didn't say stay a victim; I said avoid.  There is a big difference.  There will always be some people or some types of people one doesn't get along with.  No sense cycling the behavior throughout life when one can just pick one's partners more wisely.  I didn't say ignore.  Avoidance should limit opportunity so there shouldn't BE any bullying to ignore.  If an offense has occurred by all means CTMF (choke the mother fucker) but this forum is big enough and has a good ignore feature so that reasonable avoidance is possible without inconvenience.  Damon seems to have done alright on Ellgab, at least for a while; not sure what's going on now.  A lot of people believe once you go on the offense, you should CTMF.  But, for those who don't want to be critically aggressive, enduring opposition can also have an effect.  As a woman, I've been satisfied in making progress with assholes over time.  It doesn't have to be a crisis all at once.  Sometimes if the bully knows he's going to have to work harder, he will find an easier target.  I think Damon could learn to take a little more refuge in backup.  I understand what you said about the arena here not working for him at that time.  I just am trying to communicate in as positive as manner as possible because to him, these posts are feedback & I'd like mine to be constructive.  He is certainly not a bad person, although when he starts bullying, he loses me there.  He was a "good" person before he tried out new strategies, so maybe he'll find a balance.

To quote pharmaceutical commercials: Bellgab is not for everyone. Side effects can include chapped ass, uncontrollable weeping and sudden onset tourette's syndrome. Consult WOTR prior to engaging others. You just want nicer PMs, "free consultations", lol.

No kidding.  I'd much rather be surrounded by psychos, baking aficionados, The Groyp, and whatever 14 is, besides being a Gab forum double agent.
Thank you, I think.

Rally Squirrel was very mean to Damon about a year ago.  Some people lashed Rally Squirrel, who was incredulous.  But help for Damon came too late; he was upset and ended up doing something "obscene" deliberately which he knew he would be banned for.

Since then, he has changed how he relates to posters.  He may have become a bit of the monster he was fighting.  I think a lot of people have doxxed Damon and not even for any iota of a good reason.  Seems like he's caught up with them, and is now like in Rome doing as the Romans do.

Damon, the weapons of humor and avoidance go a long way against bullies.  Also, using intelligence to make them look like fools (takes a lot of patience, documentation, and waiting for opportunity though).  But biting back or biting harder only reduces the victim to the level of the bully, unless it's in true self-defense of life or limb.

I will always remember the night that Rally Squirrel got shaved while trying to use Damon for a punching bag, because it was the night I met White Crow.  One of the best nights in my entire life, getting to interact with a person that had some honor.

Which brings me to you, Goryer.  Nice videos but I didn't know slime molds could even be santimonious.

Coming soon to a city near you.  NorryDate.com.  Rent Norry by the hour or by the minute.  He comes complete with drink in hand.  An umbrella in the drink will cost you more. Pick the wig of your choice.  There is currently a 50% discount on Norry with a manbun or with matching braids.
Paper dolls!  Extra mustaches and remember the package needs to include his famous 'half 'stache, lol.
