Actually this forum states that it welcomes opposing views as well.

I'm not bashing forum members. After reading many posts here, misanthropes was the most honest description I could come up with. Wear it like a badge, with honor!

As for you saying "listeners at large", that's very presumptive on your part. If you want to bash someone, at least be honest when doing so. As far as I can tell GN seems to annoy a very small percentage of his audience, most of them seem to live here at GSN.

Actually if you look up Noory on about any type of reviews site he's got a buttload of low scores and detractors writing columns on how amateur/unprofessional/doofy he is. The Amazon review section for his book is a good example.

http://www.amazon.com/Worker-Light-Liberate-Limitless-Potential/dp/0765310872

If you're new to the conspiracy theory/ufo/paranormal/metaphysical stuff..then Noory is alright. But after a year or two he'll dry up in your mouth like the Sahara and you'll be thirsty for something new.

That's when I realized to find something "new", I actually had to go BACK in time...and that's when I found Art. Now, it's like comparing shit and gold to me.

Oh, and you're more than welcome to post your opinions. In fact, I kinda wish we had more Noory fans around here I could intellectually bitchslap.

When I click on that link this is what appears.

An Error Has Occurred!
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Basically, Loui is apparently out for a bit until the "feng shui" of the forum has returned to balance. I'm sure he'll come back soon. He's an oldschool member and an awesome contributor.

anybody seen the snoory forum at scifi?  what a ghost town.

Ouch...I don't think there's anything I can say that would sting worse than the reality of the link you posted. That's pitiful..I've had LJ communities with more activity than that.

Yeah, that's a big problem over at an emulation forum I visit sometimes. When they went from light to dark layouts, their "dark" layout sucked, so I often had to highlight dark-user text just to read it. No biggie for me, but some people don't get it. And vice versa, black on black wouldn't work either...it was a pretty big mess for the admins now that I think of it.

Noory on the Iranian protests/crackdown: "This will fester. It will not go away. That's my prediction." WOW! Fuck CNN and the "experts". This guy has it!

Maybe if Amadenajad played Noory over the intercoms in Iran, everyone would stop protesting and fall asleep.

Yes, I know I misspelled it. e.e;

This is my favorite banner:

Confession: I'm a retard. I just got that. I always thought it was a ball-gag on the mic, not a clown nose. It's even funnier in it's actual context.  :D

isn't it depressing?

I hadn't gotten around to reading it in full, but now that I have...-sigh- yeah. It's no wonder Snoory and the audience sound like drones...apparently that's what they wanted.

I got to the scene where he picks up the bums and asks for the 'alien menus" at the restaurant.

The whole furry/pony play thing came up.  Jason is only hot for the real thing, but he won't cross the line until he's a horse again.

Well at least he isn't one of those zoophiles who's like.."LOVE DOESN'T ONLY WALK BIPEDAL, MAAAAN."

Ouch! That's gotta hurt. Reminds me I once called a woman I was involved with a "Frigidaire." As I recall, that didn't go over very well.

Haha, I'd guess not. The worst thing I probably ever told an ex was that she's an attention whore. I find that incredibly unattractive. Humble girls are probably more my thing...she was kinda "showoffish". Smokin' hot, though.

by the way.. i have toned down the avatar sizes to 120x120.  is that ok?  open to opinions.

I'll get back to that question tomorrow when I can actually see the screen again lol. (Diphenhydramine is kickin me off to sleep.)

I know! I cringed everytime the subject of sexuality came up.

Like I was saying in the other thread, I was seriously pinning this guy as either a furry or a zoophile...so yeah, heh, anything remotely sexual caused me to hold my breath. Thankfully, I don't think it went that direction. Then again, I fell asleep around the third hour, so I may have missed something from a caller. I mean, I know if I called it'd probably be to ask him something like that. Even though it's totally sick, I just can't seem to think of people who pretend to be animals as platonic or innocent. It must be my experience with the anime convention community.

Hand??? WHAT hand?

(I accept PayPal   ) I also sharpened it up a bit, but you may prefer the "softer/blurrier" look. I left the tonal ranges alone. Softened some of the resulting harsher edges just a tad.

I like it! Switching now. Thanks V. Now I can use one of the few decent photos of me without the hand of the cajun ice queen behind me.  :D

I'ts weird - I'm actually not a redhead - but like my Dad (and now my son, though the hue is a bit different) has this reddish light underneath.  So - under light like photographers use - or bright sun - well - there it is!  Isn't that just fascinating?  :P

Actually, my mother's hair is rather reddish in the light, just like yours looks in the picture...but when she goes in the dark, it's more auburn I'd say. My last three girlfriends were pale skinned redheads/auburns. I guess Freud might have been onto something there.  :D

You're really hot BTW.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions, I'm a bit out of shape underneath the neckline. Weighed in at 205lbs (at 5'11") yesterday. I don't have awesome tits like you so I gotta work with what I got.  ;)

And yes, public announcement: I'm a heterosexual male who cares about his weight. Sue me.

This is me around the time JFK was shot.  You figure it out.  ;D

Aww, haha. I never knew you were a redhead. You're not gonna believe this EV, but I think we might be loosely related somehow. I'm wondering...do you have any family in the Virginia/W.Virginia/Tennessee area? Cause man...you really do look like all my little nieces and pictures of the girls from my mom's side as far back as I can find them. I'd also assume you're of Irish/Scottish/German descent. English is pretty much a given if you're one of those 3 at least.

You're not old enough to be a cougar.

Oh lawd.  :D

Well, I hope he'll eventually make it back to the East Sigh-eeed...or..wherever the hell we are.

I agree. Philosopher, I love your avatar, by the way. Pirate's is nice too!

Thankyoo. I had to cut out my ex, making it look a little awkward, so I appreciate the compliment. Her hand is still in there though....*smacks it*

And Sybil's avatar can stay just the way it is...

Oh yeah, I certainly don't mind looking at her's. I'm the weird dude with Witchblade posters on his wall.

Also, I haven't had a chance yet, so I just wanted to say welcome. Watch out for flying portals, angels, and 2012.  ;:)

That's because I requested from MV that he allow larger avatars - they are now set for up to 200 x 200 pixels. I found the others too small to see clearly (granted my screen is 1920 x 1200 pixels), but even whe I ran a couple of forums, I found that a maximum of 200 x 200 allowed one to see the avatar nicely without being intrusive.  Most people's avatars are either vertically or horizontally oriented, which makes it take up even less actual space. I found 200x200 to be a nice compromise between creativity and viewability.

Now it looks like Im gonna have to dig through my HD's and find a bigger one I've made... or maybe easier to start from scratch. Anyways, this is the reason some avatars are larger... because they CAN be! Hope you like the new freedom...

Good call, I like the idea of larger avatars. I just need to resize mine or make a new one. It's sticking out a bit much for my tastes. Think I'll take care of that now, actually.  8)

I think Titor is interesting because of the "internet meme" factor. Drudging through the webarchive looking for posts or references on him from the 90's adds some flavor to the whole thing. Other than that, he's just another guest with a story to me. I certainly don't buy it after looking at his "equipment".
#266
I cringed every time he said "my hooves", or "my mane".
#267
For some reason my avatar got really huge while I slept...uhh...hm..

Anyways, a big welcome to our new found compatriots of the frontal lobe against the Axis of Snoron.

OK...are we saying Jason is like a real man? One with a fetish? If so, LOL!!!! I thought this whole time Jason was a horse.

In my experience, anyone who thinks that they're an animal is a prroooobably a furry in bed.

For those unfamiliar with the term: "Furries" are people who dress up like animals (deers, wolves, whatever) during sex. It's very awkward because I actually know one or two since I used to work with an anime con. They tend to be bisexual, and the men are usually very effeminate. I'm not sure if I'm putting Jason in that category yet...but so far he's making it sound like it's possible.  :-\

It would be hard to proof defamation, especially on someone with no character to begin with. I mean, any post is a joke, or not. Who can really tell?

Take this statement for instance: "George Ralph Noory. WANTED. For broadcasting buggery and crimes too heinous to mention outside a court of law."

Do I mean that as a joke?

Or am I making up a big fat lie to make George look bad and ruin his career/life?

Damn that's a good question! I'm not really sure.

True, true. I doubt it'd ever be defamation. However, all he really has to do is find a post that he says makes him feel 'threatened". If someone feels "threatened" by something someone else says online, apparently you're subject to the law these days.

I just want to make sure people realize that wording is what's really important. You can generally say whatever you want to - it just depends on how you say it. While I don't ever see something like this happening, I have to remind myself that we're dealing with George Noory here.

I wonder if Jason The Horse hangs around the stables surreptitiously getting the inside ,um, poop on who will be winning that day.  Heck, he could even offer a couple extra buckets of oats and a beer to insure a 'W'.

He must be rich.

He's already creeping me out. I have a feeling this guy has an interesting bedroom life.

I would pay for the site to run but not the legal bills. Why would there be any legal bills if there are no assets to protect?

I'm pretty sure the ultimate responsibility of a defamation suit based on something said on this site would fall upon Michael's shoulders. That means his assets would have to at least go to the costs of court bureaucracy. I've been to court enough to find out they don't mind charging for inconveniencing you.
