Considering the mainstream media almost shits it's pants at the thought of even speaking "against the grain" on America's Israeli support or WW2, I don't think it's really anything to get up in arms about. I mean, the Jewish perspective is taken care of in almost every other aspect of radio/tv media. Screaming "antisemitism" or "jew hater" every time someone doesn't follow status quo on the subject is rather tiring.

But, hey, at least we've established a theocratic racist state for the "world's punching bags" to go to if "antisemitism" gets too bad for them here...which it never will because as I stated above, they'll ruin anyone in the media who even suggests we lessen our support of Israel. George should be more careful with Alex on the show...but as long as he sticks to the term 'Zionist" he should be okay, right? Haha.

I like the bumper music as well. It's part of the show.

What I DON'T like is what some streams used to do (like Funklbaldy or whatever it's called) that played 3 or 4 of their own songs in between hours of the show. Plus they play George.. </3

And besides, I'm just happy to have an Art-only stream with no crap, no commercials, and next to no interruptions..(other than the occasional relevant announcements from Michael, which are always brief, informative, and amusing.)

My general take on it is: Just be thankful for the stream. AND GET ME A BEER.

One guest is Art laughing, one guest is George crying, and the third guest is my evil twin brother Samuel.

I'll talk to Samuel about signing up, though.

If aliens ever actually did come down to our little neck of the woods and said 'take me to your leader"..I would be totally embarrassed if it were GN......or McCain or Obama.

Well, yeah, actually we're fucked anyways.

I'd feel okay with Ron Paul talking to them.

2. "Does Captain Kirk believe in extraterrestrials?"

..That either has to be the dumbest question ever, or the worst place to call Shattner "Captain Kirk".

I mean, gee, I dunno...maybe without the defined forehead ridges of the Klingons in TNG , Noory thought the crew of the Enterprise NCC-1701 just found some mutated south americans with bad haircuts in space.

so tim russert is dead.  what do you guys think of him?  i didn't have any problem with him until he turned his back on don imus.  prior to imus letting loose with the "nappy headed hos" flap, russert was on imus' show regularly... particularly when it came time to promote his dumb book about his dad who apparently taught him nothing about loyalty.  when imus got into hot water with the civil rights frauds out there, russert joined the list of people who were piling on against imus, his friend of many years.

i know you are supposed to say nice things about people when they die, but i just have to say i have little respect for russert as a man.  i do not believe in disloyalty.  i would have made a wonderful mafia figure.

QFT. That's pretty much how I see it myself. If Russert ever showed his true colors, I think this would be one of the best examples.

Has anyone heard the rumors started by Hal Turner that Russert was a regular underground contact of his? I think it's probably a bunch of horse shit, but they did live in the same area, both were irish catholics, and both involved in the political scene. It has a ring of sense to it...but knowing Turner's past outrageous claims, I doubt it. Then again, it has been proven that he was close friends with Sean Hannity and other politicos and talking heads..so I really don't know what to think about it I guess.

It was about the best picture I could come up with to properly describe my feelings about that asshat.  :)

I'm just looking to get to know a little about the fellow posters here. I've been listening to C2CAM since I was about 15 or so, and I'm 22 now. I started visiting Michael's site about 2-3 years or so ago after I became disappointed with Noory's shows..(this was due to too much sporadic exposure over the years to the master, Mr.Bell.)

After Michael's original site, I also became a regular listener of his and Tim's radio show. I was in the chat a couple of times under this name, I think. Actually, I still listen to the archives from time to time randomly. I think the reason I enjoyed the show is, like Art's shows, it seemed very genuine. (I also laughed my ass off over the "scared" woman. That clip was priceless.)

I should add that I'm heavy into science fiction and horror-based OTR radio. Especially Dimension X and X Minus One.

Anyways, now that I've established I'm a huge radio geek, I'm also a punk/metal guitarist, bassist, and mediocre drummer. And when I say punk and metal, I'm talking about DC hardcore, 80's thrash, Norwegian death metal..that stuff. I love video games, despise cable television (except for a few shows like South Park) and have a fetish for redheads with plaid skirts and combat boots on.

Oh, and politically, I'm pretty much a moderate conservative. I'm probably closest to libertarian. And religiously, I'm an agnostic.

Anyways, use this thread to tell me a little about yourselves. Whatever you want to share is fine with me. And if you're a hot chick, pictures are always appreciated. :)

I've had at least one possible experience. I was surprised to find it was a very common one, too - thanks to C2CAM.

I was probably 8 years old or so when I awoke from sleeping in a cold sweat and numbing sensation all over my body. I felt an extreme sense of terror when I realized I was awake, but couldn't move. I attempted to call out to my parents, but unfortunately, I couldn't speak either. At the height of my struggling, an old, witch-like face of a decrepit woman  loomed in towards me and screamed like a banshee right in my face. As she did this, it felt as if all the energy I had in me was sucked directly out of my body. I don't remember what happened after that for awhile, but when I regained full consciousness she was gone, and I could move (ever so slightly)..and speak, even though it was very weak and raspy. My parents soon came in to my calling out for help, and (as any sane parent would), they told me it was one of my frightmares and I was fine. But since that night, I've never felt quite the same health-wise.

Years and years later, I discovered that what I experienced has happened throughout history in an almost exactly similar fashion. It's referred to by medical professionals as 'sleep paralysis", but there is no exact explanation as to the almost ever-present appearance of the woman during this event. Due to this fact, many others call it the 'Old Hag Syndrome".

Apparently, as the story goes, the old hag visits primarily young males and takes their youthful energy for her own purposes. There's supposed to be something specifically about the energy of males. I believe on one of Art's shows, someone said that it's because she does something "sexually" to the victim.

So, long story short, I may have been raped by a witch.

Like Art, I'm more of a cat lover. And even when it comes to dogs, I can't really say poodles are at the top of my list either. I prefer collies, golden retrievers, and pomeranians..(crazy little guys). I'd never even considered owning a poodle. Come to think of it, I don't really know anyone who does.

But I must admit, the article was informative. I never knew poodles were good hunting dogs. I always bought into the general stereotype, but I guess that stereotype comes from a modern owner-induced thing more than the dogs themselves.

And that dog in that other link with the pink and purple crap on it...Jesus Christ.

Protip: Dying your dog's hair pink and purple doesn't just make you gay..it makes your dog gay too.

You know, I HAVE heard guests (or maybe just one guest more than once since GN's pool seems to be shrinking) say "When you run for president..." and one time even cited Ron Paul as a running mate. I always took it as a joke - since Georgie made a little scoffing sound every time.

To tell you the truth - I think this is a publicity play.  I mean - C'mon folks!  Even if I liked him as a radio personality - this guy has no connections, no experience, not qualifications of any kind!  IOW - at the risk of showing you all how old I REALLY am - I think he's pulling a Pat Paulson.

At first I only slightly recognized the name Pat Paulson, until I googled it and remembered he was responsible for that trademark out-of-time blackfaced minstrel routine...(which has always been a favorite of mine. Too bad it apparently didn't go over so well..*snicker*.).But I digress..

Aaaanyways, I agree. It's probably a stupid publicity stunt, because NO ONE would take him seriously as a candidate...except maybe the numbers lady or Hoagland as Phantastic stated above.

Although, if Obama can get the democratic nomination on speaking skills alone, maybe that makes Noory think he has a chance? Unfortunately for him, he's not carrying any weight in that department either...so he's pretty much fucked.

To answer your question at the end..well, George doesn't really do ANY shows on par with Art Bell's. So..I'd unfortunately have to say "no."

I don't necessarily think George is the worst radio host ever. I mean, he's not a three-legged retarded pygmy or anything. But out of all the people they could have replaced Art Bell with, I have NO idea why they chose him.

Me personally, I can listen to George's shows sometimes. Only when I'm in my car and out somewhere, though. It's generally better than whatever the hell else is on talk radio at the time. Otherwise, in the ideal situation, I listen to Michael Vandeven's stream, which I have been thankful to have access to for a couple years now. I'd much rather hear Art's shows a few times over than hear new shows from George.

The main issue with George that you will find if you listen to him, is his habit of scheduling ridiculous guests over and over again...or doing really corny things like "talking to a future version of himself". It sounds kind of intriguing at first, but trust me...it's made of fail.

Also, he always injects completely unrelated (and usually predictable) babble into the conversation. That's when he's pretending to be interested. The rest of the time he just lets the absolutely WORST guests and callers ramble on for ages....

I could point out more differences between he and Art, but the short version is basically that they're two completely different hosts.

ROFL. Fucking saved!

It's also kinda interesting to imagine him before the show doing sort of a Rockyesque warm up in front of the mirror.

George (to himself in mirror): "Come on old bean. Tonight's show is going to be the best EVER. YEAH!! GET PUMPED!!" *slaps self repeatedly* "You NEED this. They NEED this. YOU NEED IT!!" *looks at steroids* "NO! No baby, you don't need the milk. BABY DOESN'T NEED THE MILK!"

Random Studio Guy: "George, you're on in five."

George (to himself in mirror): "Alright Georgie, alright, deep breaths. Hummm..hummm..dead babies, Antarctica, dead babies, Antarctica, pusillanimous, pusillanimous, pusillanimous. ALRIGHT LET'S DO THIS."

......

Actually, thinking of George in almost any situation is kinda funny, now that I think of it.

Hah! Yeah, you definitely nailed his annoying habit of unrelated referencing with that one. Thanks for the lulz.  :)
there is a word for what noory does.  his left-field quips are called non sequiturs.  there's an entire wikipedia article on it here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non_sequitur_%28humor%29

as you're reading it, you'll be absolutely FORCED to think about snoors.

Well shit,..THAT definitely nails him. George might as well be the "it" in "It does not follow" because that's pretty much his whole routine. And now I actually know what people are talking about when they refer to that term. Way to make the site fun, and educational!

GN- "Mel, do you think that hole is a portal to a universe where it is already 2012?"
Mel- "Uh, no. As I was saying-..."
GN- "Hey Mel. Did you know that Disney had a movie about holes in the dessert? The name of the movie was "Holes"! Do you think they based it on your hole?"
Mel- "No.....anyway, the fire that started on the bucket of ice that we lowered is still burning and seems to be an renewable source of energy. In fact, one of the military people who was sent to investigate-"
GN- (laughter)
Mel (taken aback)- "George, are you still there? I was saying that one of the military-"
GN- "Iceland"
Mel- "Iceland?"
GN- "The country that 80's pop icon Bjork is from. That was the trivia question Tommy asked me at lunch today. It just came to me now (via Google)"
Mel-"Thanks for having me on tonight, George. I feel a headache coming on and better lay down for a bit."
GN- "Amazing!"

Hah! Yeah, you definitely nailed his annoying habit of unrelated referencing with that one. Thanks for the lulz.  :)

I enjoy Ian. I admit I haven't heard him lately, but everything I've heard from him was CERTAINLY more interesting than George's shows. He's quick-witted and has a very good sense of humor. I don't think I'd want him as a full-time guy...he's more like a wild card sort of personality for special nights. But I still think he's very genuine, and far worthier than Noory for the position.

Maybe with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lunch box on the desk, making paper airplanes and spinning around in his swivel chair while doing the show.
