Yes, and with your help and others, I'm bringing it up to nearly 200 songs! I'll post my revised list soon, and there will possibly be an accompanying zip file posted by another Gabber with all 200 songs...

I missed some real obvious ones, like ABBA's SOS!!  Doh!

Hooked On A Feelin' - Blue Swede

For some reason, SOS reminded me of that!! What else are we forgetting...

Yeah!  haha.

This list is getting dangerously close to 200 songs.

Drive - The Cars
Yeah, I caught that one tonight too... this is the list to rule all lists.

Earth Pod

I saw this group on the Jimmy Kimmel show, some time ago and thought this would be a good bumper song.  I like the ending when the two drummers can really be heard.  It's an interestingly arranged song.

POLICA - DARK STAR (Official Music Video)

Amazing list and topic! I've always had a love for Art's choice in bumper music. I don't know if anyone has done this yet, but I created an Art Bell Bumper playlist on Spotify based on The General's list and I thought I'd share the link here.

http://open.spotify.com/user/matthayhurst/playlist/71Mci5OjswHmiSm6nFXg1A

or

spotify:user:matthayhurst:playlist:71Mci5OjswHmiSm6nFXg1A

I'l try and add others as they make there way on this thread. A few of the songs on the list aren't in the Spotify library but most are. I added a few tracks from my local library but I'm not sure if they appear on the playlist and you just can't access them (i.e. George Harrison and Loreena McKennitt) or if they are left off.

Anyway, if you use Spotify, enjoy.

Oh, does anyone know if Art ever used The Stranger Song by Leonard Cohen?

Blade Runner Blues - Vangelis

(I looked through to make sure, he was playing this in 2006)

Also, Michael Jackson - Thriller

Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters

Paul Oakenfold - Tubular Bells

John Carpenter - Michel Meyers Theme

Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

Delia Derbyshire - Dr Who Theme

Frank Zappa - Hot Rats

Atlanta Rhythm Section - Spooky

Mhayhurst

I added those (which ones I could) to the Spotify Playlist.

Mhayhurst

China Grove - Doobie Brothers

isn't Tubular Bell Mike Oldfield?

yeah you are totally right, don't know where I got that name from

The General

K, here's the ones I've come up with recently that I don't think have been mentioned.
I have to remake the master list and eliminate duplicates, but...

Cradle of Love - Johnny Preston
Cruel to be Kind - Nick Lowe
Dreams - Fleetwood Mac
Gold Dust Woman - Fleetwood Mac
Inca Bridges - Cusco
My Sweet Lord - George Harrison
Only in America - Jay and the Americans
Pretty Blue Eyes - Steve Lawrence
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppellin
Windy - The Association

I'm pretty sure I heard Apurimac from Apurimac I last night. What was the other Cusco he played? I was half asleep.

There's Quetzel's Feather, Waters of Cesme, Montezuma, Fighting Inca, Catalina and last night there was Flute Battle by Cusco

What was the name of the one that went " ooga shocka, ooga shocka " ?
Fighting Inca.
Sounds like the weirdest college fight song ever.
The Fighting Incas of Nasca High or something.

Are you thinking of "Hooked on a Feeling?"

Maybe.
You hear stuff over and over and never know what the song is called.
I think that before Noory played them to death, Art played Sinatra too but don't quote me on that.
Didn't Art play other Crystal Gayle stuff as well ?
My gf hadn't heard of her either before I started playing Midnight In The Desert.
Anyway, awesome list.
I've been burning cds to play in the car. My girlfriend had never heard Petula Clark songs and loves her singing !
Damned if I know what SHE was listening to when she was a small child of 8 or so.
She's now 57.
Though I do know she loves Johnny Mathis, Ray Charles and I bought her Johnny's Greatest Hits the other day and she was really surprised to get that. I keep having to tell her to go away when I go into Rasputin's to buy stuff that I know she likes and surprise her with it.
She likes tv stuff I don't like Futurama. I bought her season I too as a surprise along with the Mathis cd.
I got one season of Highway Patrol for $9.95 which kind of amazed me because they were just released fairly recently. I got a DVD of Gangbusters and the Radar Men From The Moon DVD last week. I have 44 blue rays, just picked up Spaceballs. Have around 400 DVDs of movies and tv shows.
And 6 more music cds for my collection including more Sinatra stuff I didn't have.
What gets us is that I take stuff off of my vast cd collection which gets changed to MP3s and some cuts come out quiet while others practically blast us out of our seats because the volume is blaring.
I wonder why that is.
I must have about a 1,000 cds of music or so.
I have 1576 songs in Itunes on my IMac right now, if I deduct podcasts and AB broadcasts its about 1300.
I don't know if you can print out a list of what you've got in Itunes or not.

Flute battle, this is what I was having trouble remembering from last night, thanks.

He went from Flute Battle, into his thunder sound clip, into The Chase, and then back into the interview with Al Taylor. You'd think his next line would be "THIS is the CBC broadcast network"

Awesome

And did you hear him hawking the old hand-crank C Crane radio last night?
Awesome.   I feel like it's Y2K prep time all over again.

That makes it easy, and you don't have to comb through this thread.
