Enjoyed Lease A Car interviewing my old amigo Paul Stamets last night. Did any of you all listen or don't you give a crap about saving the earf?
Sorry AB... I did my part by not wasting the electricity to power my radio for those hours.  Listening to "Le Cigar" do any interview would be pointless and frustrating for me.  See if he can book on MITD and I promise to listen.

***I just looked him up and am interested (still cannot bring myself to listen to his interview with the cigar.)  I have always found fungi to be fascinating. I'm somewhat disappointed to find that slime molds are no longer fungi...

I tried listening last night...... Sigh

Last night's show was just a whole advertisement for the nwo!

Haha. Yep, him saying "we don't have the institutions in place", "global warming realization"  "unifying the people of the whole world" quote from said from, as he called himself, "globalist humanist." And not "addressing the capital flows into the 3rd World" (I assume he means lack thereof or going to the wrong parties there) causing terrorism. I'm hoping for Alex Jones to call in ;)

ps: "United States of Mother Earth" :o this guy is getting more and more out there. If we need to have a universal leader and universal leader why have States at all? And how would modeling the global model, or at least naming it after, "united states" would encourage most of the world to sign onto it. The US brand isn't so compelling in some areas of the world (though admittedly it seems they all still want to come here, even illegally.)

Garr is just horrible.......hate her topics.........she needs to go to NPR........

It has come to this......

Checked the C2C website this morning, to see what was scheduled for Saturday Night/Sunday morning. George Knapp? Dave Schrader or Richard Syrett? Even a surprise appearance by Rob Simone or John B.?  NO!  It's the dreadful Lisa Garr, with a hot topic - The Magic Mushroom Show!  A thousand and one uses for the good old mushroom.  Come on, try paranormal topics, true crime, mysterious disappearances, political intrigues, a topic with some bite. Not the wonders of Mushrooms. Arghhhh!   >:(

I did the same thing........Garr is just awful......so disappointing when she hosts........ :-\

Listening to part of Garr's show last night, I have to say her questions are even more inane than Noory's (yes it is possible) and her pointless interjections are even more annoying and, well, pointless.

I don't need no Viagra cock- tail when I listen to fone sex voiced Lisa.  Wife wants to know why I speak french during lovemakng.  "Le Cigar, Le Cigar."  Or is that just freudian?  Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I've noticed that men in this forum are particularly hard on women.  A woman can do the job, my main complaint with Garr is she sounds too bubbly, not serious enough.  She's better than Noory by a long shot.  Though her choice of bumper music bothered me, why?  Because the songs were very bassy and thumpy and I don't have a bass control on my computer speakers, so I have to turn down the damn speakers to the point I can't hear the dialogue and I'm trying to fall asleep.  I rent so I cannot have loud noise at night.  I need new speakers but it's gonna be a while before I can afford them.

But she isn't bad, I hope if she continues she chooses good shows and can manage to win the respect of male listeners, which isn't very easy for a woman to do.  I'll take her over Noory and Wells any day!

I think you're right.  I like her.  Her questions were a lot more meaningful and prying.  She's definitely engaged in the topic and makes it interesting.  She has a good voice.  She is not overly sweet or nasty, as some are.  She is not pushing her opinions, but trying to get the most from the guest.  She does a good job.

I actually kind of like Ms. Lisa.  Her voice is like a warm hug.  She's thoughtful about her questions and polite to the guests.  I just seem to always dislike her topics and/or guests.  It's like having an actor you like but they just make a string of bad movies so you sort of tune them out.

Ha ha ha!   Ha ha ha!   aha ha ha!

I'm bored.

Who

Lisa's guest in the first half tonight is Gary Douglas.  He grew up like Beaver Cleaver, he can transform your consciousness and he can hold up  an entire wall with his foot.

The amazing thing is his foot's not actually touching the wall - he's doing it with pure energy.

Juan Cena

It sounds like Lisa broke into Connie Willis' stash with all this giggling.

First thought:  Is she Teri Garr's sister?

Second thought:  If she is, does she look like Teri Garr?

Third thought:  Too bad that every time I heard her on, I pretty much went for the power switch.  Vapidity abounds.

Frankly, between MitD, U7 Radio and DMDN are enough to keep me going, aside from daytime sports/talk/news stuff that I'll listen to while working on crap or driving.

No.  This is not the realm of women.

You either get Goofy crystal reikek Gaiam nuts like LE Cigar, or you get a 70 year old dope smoking failed ookbook publishers.

Women need nurturing radio roles.   This is not a nurturing niche.  It is probing and confrontational.

I totally resemble that remark. I am a 68-year-old successful ookbook writer and I am both nurturing and confrontational. You might want to get ready because the wimmin are coming, they are as interested in the paranormal as you are, and we are tired of bringing the refreshments, even if we do know how to ook. 🌸Bella🌸

She's Terri Garr's niece.  No, she does not look like Terri.  Lisa is a brunette.  She's nice looking though.  I'm only listening to this while I install lights and replace ballasts. Nothing else is on.

Sean92008

As an aside, I recall that Garr and Dave Schroeder (sp?) both leaned heavily religious towards their particular "one true" god.

Is that just bad timing on my part, tuning in when they were on their religious-bent presentations?

1) She's Teri Garr's niece.

2) She's said so on air.

3) Paladin1991 used to have a huge thing for Teri Garr.

I've thought that, on the whole, women have higher pitched voices, which already makes them not to be taken seriously.  THey should be careful when laughing or using too much inflexion.  Women can be trained to lower their voices, but few do that.

Women used to be advised at work, having predominantly male bosses, no to remind him of his mother, wife, or daughter.

who I think do well in the media, with whom you may not agree - Mika Brzezinski, Andrea Mitchell, Rachel Maddow.

Oh, I hope not.  Some, I think, do it for their audiences.  I'll bet the demographics skew towards the  born-agins.  Even Art said he sometimes was careful with his programming because of them.

The section of the show with Clark Elliot, Phd (http://clarkelliott.com/), "The Ghost In My Brain" was interesting and Lisa Garr did a good job, especially/maybe due her own awful experience with brain injury and recovery. Brain "stuff" is always interesting and especially these days with the concern over concussions with regard to sports, cars, motorcycles, ATVs, etc. Very interesting interview.
ps: I also had thing for Teri Garr. Yum. Especially in "Young Frankenstein" in the peasant dress.
