Tyson killed Pluto.  Boo! ;D

Nah, all the other Plutos they were finding out in the Kuiper Belt were what killed Pluto.

A few shows ago I had a debate with a couple of you fine and vaguely lovable Bell Gab folks about a manned mission to Mars.  My position was it was inevitable in the (fairly) near future.   Some of you doubted my wisdom on the issue.

Well, this came out today.  In case you missed it, enjoy:

NASA Inches Closer To Sending Manned Mission To Mars
September 21, 12:23 AM

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said that the dream of sending a manned mission to planet Mars is closer to reality than ever before.

Bolden, who admitted having envisioned himself to become the first person to explore the Red Planet when he joined the astronaut training at the Houston's Johnson Space Center back in the 1980's, said that the U.S. space agency's current aim of bringing humans to Mars in the 2030's is highly possible.

I thought that was the whole point of the new Orion capsule and Space Launch System?  Then again the next administration could as easily cancel it in 2016 like has been done so many times before.

Over 4.5 million Twitter followers.

It's a good bet too that most of them have never heard of Art . . . yet.
