I sent Art a Wormhole question- Were there any reports of Large Birds in these areas?

He never responded.

(Remember stories- some from Native Americans of Huge Birds of Prey? This could account for no scent trail)

There's another great idea for a show.  The dark side of Appalachia.
Absolutely. Plenty of raw material along the stretch....

Sounds like kidnapping and murder...the body was preserved by the cold...

No tracks or scent? AND they carried a body over two mountain ranges within a couple of days? AND they essentially vanished without sound and without being in eye shot in any direction at all within seconds? Wow. Find me that superman, I'd like to clean his cape.

Thunderbirds.

These simplistic terrestrial explanations/answers are reminiscent of the characters in the hooror films that hear a window shatter then ear splitting growl or scream in their home and reply with "Go back to sleep, dear. It's probably just the wind."

Thunderbird sightings are not unheard of among the peoples, at least in the 19th and 20th centuries. It would be interesting to know if there have been any reports in the 21st.

Yes those stories make sense...the California Condor is an amazingly large bird! The American Golden Eagle can be pretty big too. From where I was born and raised in So. Illinois there is the Piasa Bird!

Just Me

David Paulides is not reporting these stories from his point of view, He is copying them from public archives and pasting the stories in his books. He uses another authors work to shore up his points that a little kid would walk down hill instead of up hill only within a mile or two. He used that other authors point in his number 4 book so many times I became sick.

The guy has a mind of a cop who thinks he has the answers even though he won't tell you them. I was informed he was soliciting a movie on kick starter to anyone who bought his books. At first I thought it was a scam but emailed him and he confirmed it was his project.

I think this movie will have insight but maybe becoming dull mirroring his already written about stories with 4k video of the locations and a couple of face time clips of victims and witness stating their thoughts and involvement. I have a sinking suspicion this movie maybe a flop because he will rehash the same old stuff on video.

Now, read this from another post I just made as to how his mind works.

Paulides is a cop and cops are rigid in there thinking, they know more than you and me so have the answers tucked away in their heads. I have to commend Paulides for protecting his reputation from those who would throw down strategic character assassination. Like that ex cop dyers with the bigfoot in a freezer sham. Dyer got burned down, got back up, and burned back down again.

I've read 4 of Paulides books on 411 missing and he pulls the stories from public archives with a little dab of another authors findings to hedge his approach. Now he has a new book number 5 and I'll read that but I'm suspicious of Paulides now.

I caught his c2c show with George Knapp a week ago and he was all over that Elisa Lam story, after I emailed him 2013 he should look into that story because I detected similarities to his books. Someone emailed back, no name or any indication it was Paulides in all the emails I exchanged with his organization, "Nothing outwardly weird. She was murdered and stuffed in the watertank. We don't investigate urban disappearances".

It was a total blow off response with who ever was responding quite abruptly dismissing the point.

I emailed his organization again some time later and stated he should take another look at this Elisa Lam case and this time the response was, "I think you have a misperception about our project and work. You need to read the books to understand the complexity of what we've found." Funny, I read all his books to that time but the canned response was to read his books.

Now Paulides is all over the Elisa Lam case and that's his crown jewel for selling his books.

I was shocked to hear his position change from what his first two replies indicated.

I emailed Paulides again after the George Knapp show with, "I see you changed your mind" Including all the previous emails to check into Elisa Lam case. I also mentioned the Wisconsin murders were the smiley face murders and also mysteriously connected to the process church of the final judgement satanic killings.

No response, Of course, when busted. That's how it goes in the world of selling books.

I saw a pterodactyl, at least that is what it looked like to me, many years ago. My friends still give me a hard time about it because it was after a day of heavy imbibing etc. They reckoned it was a sandhill crane I saw but I was lying out on a pier in the middle of nowhere on a small bay on the coast in the dark watching falling stars and suddenly this shadow swooped up from over the water, over me, and then off into the dark my first instinct was it was a pterodactyl. A quick search tells me that I'm not alone and someone has already written about about it!

That's true. I spend most of my free time in Mt. Rainier National Park, sometimes Mt. St. Helens, as well as other wilderness areas around my town.  Lately, I've been visiting ghost towns that you have to hike into, and I've been doing it alone or just with my dog. Despite spending a lot of time at Mt. Rainier and having a great sense of direction, last year, I somehow missed my trail back out of the woods. I backtracked at least 5 or 6 times before I found it again. I was like it had just closed up and disappeared and then finally reappeared. It was bizarre. I can't chalk it up to the paranormal. I guess I somehow just missed it. That had never happened to be me before, and it was quite scary. Had I panicked and just kept going deeper into the woods, who knows how long I might have been out there.  Paulides' stories used to really freak me out. Since I've heard his various interviews at least 5 or 6 times now, the stories are starting to wear thin. It's not going to stop me from getting out there and exploring. There are just too many interesting things out there still to be found.

Here are some of the photos from recent ghost town trips and a trip to an abandoned missile launch facility.  The galleries are on the top, under the title.

There were a number of sightings (and even claim found) pterodactyl-like creatures throughout the West. Of course newspapers back when, as they are now, were often fairly speculative and not trustworthy but still it is interesting. There was a bunch of sightings and encounters in Texas in the 70's I recall hearing about. Who knows? What I saw looked like one. Sandhill cranes are big and can cast large shadows and, yes, self-admittedly I'd been partying most of the day but still it didn't look like a crane to me! The way it flew was more bat-like, it was black, and was gliding more than flying. Estimated wing span of about 10ft +/-. But wasn't big enough to be able to pick up a man. Arguably man a child for a short distance... but maybe I saw a juvenile!

With all these responses, there is obviously room for discussion about Large Birds of Prey and that is why I'm so disappointed that Art failed to respond to my Wormhole post which was mid-way in the show.

I don't recall him responding to any Wormhole comments on this show.

Did anyone?

Is the Wormhole working?

I got an acknowledgement that it was sent

That place is awesome! Bullet holes in walls!

I did hear the Wormhole mentioned a few times and the questions were very good.

One thing I would love to know more about is the "off the grid" people who "wear furs" and "can't be controlled." Homeless? Crazy? Still there? Who are they? Can't be controlled? Why? Maybe I missed something.

Thanks for posting your experience with Paulides, as it gives quite a bit more insight into his modus operandi.  After hearing him a number of times with Knapp and now Art, I'm of the opinion he's latched onto an interesting angle for pushing out a number of mysteries with the primary motivation of making a buck, especially now since he's pursuing a movie.  Shocking, I know.  ;)  But what is it law enforcement says about seeking motivation for solving crimes?  ;)

I won't dispute the cases ARE mysterious and puzzling, if they really are as he's reporting them.  If this is the case, it's probably very unlikely anyone will find the reason for the incidents, in particular for the older cases.   Maybe Paulides is of the same opinion but he certainly seems much more interested in pushing his books and portraying mysterious circumstances than in uncovering what is really going on.  Of course this is typical of much of the paranormal.  Push a number of mysterious stories ad infinitum, never achieving any answers.  It's like following a Sherlock Holmes case which never ends.

Solid show for the most part. I'm reminded of a movie from last year called The Preservation with Wrenn Schmidt in it. It was about some people going into the woods and being killed off by people living in the woods.. not a great movie but solid actors, could've been better plot wise.

A guy named Steve Stockton who wrote a couple of books called Strange Stories in The Woods Vol.1 & 2 has been on Where Did The Road Go? a couple of times. It's more paranormal oriented accounts, tales and lore but relevant to those who enjoyed this show.

indigoo

Honestly, the show was pretty much an exact replication of the last show I heard him on. Interviewer was better, but the guy just never offers up stuff other than the typical stories. He's a good speaker but I want to hear more tales with odd features, and stuff that he hasn't rehashed a million times over. In the end, his position is making him money, why would he give us any answers?

I actually found Linda Godfrey's show better. But really, Art needs to start finding more interesting topics/guests because I can't take another UFO/time travel show.

Agreed. He may believe he has found a new and untried angle at "Finding Bigfoot" or "UFO Hunters" but it sounds like the Park Service isn't cooperating with his new venture. I love the National Parks. It's the only thing in our government that still works right.

CoolTen10

I wasn't to enthralled by the Paulides interview. It's always the same stories. I think Art's question about the percentage of the people missing to the number of visitors is to low to give this issue much more credence. The reason they vanish sounds to implausible as Art stated. No one can just dissappear in thin air unless your David Copperfield perhaps.

In regards to the people drowning in the water like the Manchester City cases. Suicide? Not only that but also it is more than likely those people are taking some kind of drug that makes them think about water. The only mystery is why and is it by their will or someone else's.

For some reason I liked the picture with the phrase "abandon all hope, all who enter here."  I guess it is because the "author" was so close to getting it right and sounding smart, but missed it by a hair.
