Hoagland is pretty awesome.  I mean, the phone's ringing.  There are random noises.  It's a somewhat controlled chaos.  I love it.  I'm not looking for polished with him.  That's for other people.  He's better in the raw so to speak.  He just sort of takes things a they come. Agreed; he's enough of a character that I'm entertained by him being himself.  To paraphrase Dr. Johnson, Hoagie doing a radio show is like a dog walking on its hind legs -- it's not that it's done well, but that it's done at all.

I've been listening to RCH much more than I thought I would, but I cannot justify the $5/month to him. The quality of the show just isn't there and I am already a TT to Art's show.

Why not make the archives free (with ads included) instead of charging a subscription fee. RCH could go for an ad revenue model instead of subscription.

In the short time I've been listening, I haven't heard any real ads. Maybe I am just missing them.

Just my 2 cents.

I totally agree....I'm loving OSOM too and since I can't be awake from 3:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. for the live show, I decided to subscribe for one month just to see what RCH would do with a show of his own.

I've been more than pleasantly surprised. The show has it's own special charm all it's own and Hoagie is somehow warmly intense, humorous and interesting in only a RCH way.

He did say at the very beginning of OSOM that he just wanted to make the show like a chat or conversation with close friends and IMHO he has accomplished that feeling and ambience.

I've enjoyed every show of OSOM that I have listened to so far and I think I am going to keep my subscription. The entertainment is well worth $5.00/mo for me.

Given the statements and positions he has quite publicly tied himself to, over the years, it would be pure madness a pretty huge leap of faith to hitch your brand to Mr. Hoagland... even if your product was ass-whistles for cats.
