You got two choices to explain your "unknowing": brazen deciet or willfull ignorance -- take your pick.
And of course, the headlines of any newspaper in this country will provide you with your "shortlist", so I needn't waste any more of my time on you.

In other words you have no idea either, your just parroting the rest of your echo chamber.

*Nothing if those pursuits don't damage or disadvantage another country or population. I think the political consideration should be separated from the societal one. GB was damaging to most of the world in many respects, but conversely it was benevolent too. If it hadn't been so adventurous, the world would have been denied the things it now takes for granted; but then, the world didn't get those things through completely altruistic reasons from (what was) the East India Company and others. Globalism isn't new, its just been given a name for some to detest.

**Nothing. Too few take pride in their surroundings, unconsciously deciding its 'not their job'. Having pride in your country is a strange construct; its happenstance where we're born. If you'd been born in Tasmania or Siberia, would you be proud? Is it just a form of indoctrination?

Sadly, most of the poorest nations and the poorest people in massive countries (China, India, Most of the African countries) are poor because of the plundering by richer countries in centuries and decades past aided and abetted by despotic rulers of many; or the democratically elected rulers of others who have a society weighed down with chronic bureaucracy and a stagnant economy with little in the way of decent infrastructure (Good housing, clean water, decent power supplies, widespread food supply, decent roads/rail)

And what happens when a rich Western country threatens a poor country that doesn't toe the line? The poor get poorer, the despots stay rich or richer and the West wrings its hands and shuffles its feet saying 'something must be done to stop this obscenity' and then does fuck all.
See above.

Then that is the job of politicians over the will and power of manufacturers and service industries. I'll give a few examples:

Thatcher started the privitisation of the UK's utility companies. Water, gas, Electricity. John Major later overseeing the railways being hawked off.

All those were owned by the British tax payer. Shares in all were sold off to those who applied for shares. Cut a long story short, that involves equity firms buying them up from the 'people' who bought them; they're now (almost all of them, plus others) owned by non British companies. The irony being that for all the bluster about it being unfair the railways being funded by the 'poor' taxpayer, not only are they owned between the French and German railways (Virgin trains being the sole exception) which are all nationalised (So the UK railways are basically funding the German and French economies), but due to the idiotic way the franchises have been sold to the franchisees, the British taxpayer now pays more (plus the massive fair increases) on the railways than it ever did when it was a nationalised network. The sick thing being, this was all predicted by those doom sayers at the time, who get no satisfaction in saying 'we told you so'.

Steel production in China isn't anywhere near as good as that in Sheffield. But its much much cheaper and adequate for the needs of most. Trump might be really believing that he can throw a magic switch to get the steel plants in the US up and running; but he can't and he won't. Who in the US will work for the same wages as someone in China? And which major steel user (vehicles etc) will pay the cost of American steel that covers the cost of the US steel plant worker?

The UK went through similar. I was one of those who protested at the shutting of the steel plants; and I wasn't even in the steel industry. Why? Because of the infrastructure; the little cafe's, the pubs and bars, the shops, the furniture stores, the many shops that were there because the steady stream of steel workers (upwards of 60000), that the company I worked for supplied in printed material, disappeared in about four-eight months. It was heartbreaking to watch each week, another long established firm folding. I moved jobs and the company I'd left shut down in about a year. It had been founded in 1925. It had gone through the depression, WW2, and other shit, but the shutting of steel and later coal mines killed the business.

I don't know what the answer is. But pulling up the drawbridge after the castle has emptied is too late.

I've maybe missed bits, but its mostly there.

Thank you, Pud, for your input.  I don't find myself disagreeing with much of what you wrote and in some ways, I think, you actually laid forth some reasons why globalism is bad especially regarding the steel industry and the rail system in your fine country.

As for earlier in your post, you laid forth that some countries don't take much pride in their country because there is nothing to be proud of.  No proud history and so forth.  That doesn't mean that those of us that live in the most advanced nations should not take pride in our national heritage.  Of course bad things have happened here in America in the name of nationalism such as slavery and the  theft of land from Native Americans in the time of Manifest Destiny but as with anything in life, there is good and bad associated with nationalism.  Intercontinental railroads and our current highways system allowing for the speedy transfer of goods is one example of the good and protection of lands using the National Park System.  I would like to add that I'm totally in favor of the National Park System though I think it has been used in recent years to enlarge federal land ownership rather than protecting national treasures.  I think most of the great parks were established in the first hundred years of the program and a large portion during the first 50 years.  There are no great national natural treasures left in need of protection, IMHO.  To close out this portion of the subject, I would quibble with you and tell you that Siberia is not a country but a part of Russia.  The only people who inhabited it prior to the Russians were  some Inuits and various Asiatic nomadic tribes that passed through it from time to time.

I will also quibble with you a bit about the forces behind the East India Tea Company.  Sure there were some globalist characteristics, some good came to the Indians as well as bad due to British control of India.  However, I would add, that what motivated the English to go there was the insatiable desire for tea and I would say that the impulse behind that came from nationalistic sources very much similar to the American desire to go west.  Same would apply to the British colonies in South Africa and other places.  I would add that the Europeans modernized South Africa while much of the continent south of the Sahara was still living in huts and selling slaves to the whites.  Why Africa in large lacked the drive and some might say, intelligence, to cast aside the past and modernize, is a very troubling question to answer.  Countries to the north of South Africa are still having a hard time modernizing. Why?  Surely there have got to be some bright individuals in the black community over there.  I've known a few in my time.  As I've shown, sometimes I think globalism can work in tandem with nationalism, but only as a subservient force.  If globalism is the main force then I think the advanced nations suffer.

The long term goal of the Left is a one world government, run by them.  A fascist dictatorship.  ''Globalism'' is a part of their multi-pronged attack.  Aspects of it are to expand the power of these elites, aspects of it are meant to demoralize and weaken the rest of us.

Globalism strengthens the huge multinational companies and is destructive to the middle class.  Military alliances, economic alliances, political alliances, all expand the power and reach of government and the elites, at the expense of the rest of us.  Each of these agreements moves these elites a step closer to their ultimate goal.

Bringing in floods of immigrants upsets the demographics of the host nation, and fundamentally alters society and the culture.  Bringing in floods of Muslim refugees allows terrorists to hide among them, and once in the host country can disrupt right away or exist as cells for future attacks.

It seems like a form of communism to me what with the redistribution of wealth.

No. Hillary was the fascist this election. That's what you still don't seem to get. Look into it. Seriously! ;)

Trump making America great again by ensuring that we will  have sustainable amounts of Play-doh in our country should the rest of the world go belly up.  I wonder if this will make the snowflakes happy.

Fascism and Soviet style Communism are not opposites, the same way the Shia and Sunni branches of Islam are not opposites.  They're rivals for the same individuals susceptible to their ideologies, and don't mind fighting each other over it.

It wasn't until Germany attacked the Soviets to break the Hitler-Stalin Pact that left had to cut the Nazi's loose.  It wasn't until the killing fields were revealed to the world that the left decided it was in their best interest to cut Pol Pot loose.

The left in our country isn't better or different, they just don't have all the guns and complete control.  Just ask your nearest BLM representative.

Soviet socialism (communism) was international. National Socialism was, among other things, rooted in blood and soil. Thus the great division between the two.  Today's globalism is nothing but a communist utopia in new clothes.

The Soviet revolution was instigated because of the people rsing up against the royal family and aristocrats, as too was the revolution in France. They were starving and had had enough of seeing their country being run by despots, oblivious to the suffering of the people.

Globalism  isn't a Communist Utopia in any sense at all. Communism (in its purest form) has no elite; No heirachy. Everyone is equal in every way in a societal way. Different people with different skills bringing all to the table for the common good but with no 'us and them'.

The SU never had that; it still had the elite in all the time it existed, as do all 'Communist' countries. They're primarily fascist dictatorships that sell the myth to their masses that they're all equal and in the same boat. The West tells their people that the examples they see prove that Communism is evil because of its evil leaders. And sure, but the examples are not true Communist countries. And so the wheel revolves.

Globalism is the transfer of goods and services to a place or places that will gve a better return on investment by corporations. And to my knowledge, those same corporations are headed by the self same CEO's who fund political parties. They're far from being Communists. Its why 50% of the World's wealth is owned by less than 5% of the population. Here's one bloke who was helping Trump and Farage to play the game. Globalist, but not likely a Communist.

Really?! What about her platform appealed to the common man? Face it, she was a straight up corporatist who just didn't give a shit about the little people anymore, she was caught in a bunch of lies and everyone saw through her except you, apparently. The only two people offering a "common man" package were Trump and Bernie and given a choice between a right-wing common man platform and a left-wing common man platform this country will usually always choose the right-wing one.  ;)

You're repeating a bunch of rhetoric about him, little of which is true. Yes, he wanted better relations with the Russians (like Trump does) but he was clearly on record as a free market capitalist. The man voted for Nixon, after all. No, his main problem was simply that he didn't have a enough party boss friends (these days you'd call these super-pacs) and they started circulating the commie rumors. Which resulted in getting essentially a racist idiot for a president instead, but one who would go along with whatever the post-war intelligence community wanted to do.

Retard, you're doing this again. You've replied to the *wrong post* and are here attempting to counter some point entirely unrelated to the content of the material from me which you have quoted! [my reply you quoted here was regarding a requested short-list of Trump policies!] You're a sick twisted man. I'm now begining to think this is not merely an accident but part of your over-all doing-of-violence-at-a-distance *strategy*. I said befor you were mucking around with thread continuity and I was right.

At any rate your violence continues in the body of your post. You defame, malign, smear, denigrate, misrepresent, unsubstantiated rubbish, mud-slinging, charactor-assassinate twist, half-tell, belittle, accuse, label as unamerican, occultist, nut-job, traitor --- people you know absolutly nothing about, people of substance, achievers, contributors, as away of taking vengence expressing your violent aggression for your humiliation at being a nobody and a nothing. A wee small manlet.
Go fuck yourself -- psych-ward escapee!

pate

I have just conducted a scientific factual analysis of the BellGab forums, the data have revealed that the President Donald J. Trump thread is more popular by a considerable margin than the Barack Obama, the President of America thread.

I would liken the considerable difference in the margin of popularity between the two threads to be akin to a landslide in proportion.

I don't see your article but I've never thought of The Atlantic as a particularly unbiased source:

Politically, Bradley considers himself a centrist,[1] although he has also described himself as "a neocon guy" who was "dead certain about the rightness" of invading Iraq.[8] In the 2008 U.S. presidential primaries he donated $4,300 to Hillary Clinton and $2,300 to Barack Obama and to Mitt Romney.[8]
